Man’s Sudden Death
Grand Jury Indicts Tampa Man On Tax Fraud Charges
Has Family Looking
For Answers
The Internal Revenue Service arrested a Tampa man in connection with a tax fraud in- vestigation. The allegations of tax fraud date back nearly five years.
According to court documents, Cedric Clark opened several bank accounts begin- ning in October 2010. In January 2011, offi- cials said Clark opened a post office box and a bank account in the name of “Cedric B Clark dba Ced’s Tax Services.”
Officials said at the end of March that year, a tax refund was filed on behalf of an individ- ual and the mailing address was Clark’s post office box. The payment refund of $4,000 was directed to one of the accounts Clark had
opened.
Officials said Clark and his co-conspirators
continued having fraudulent refund checks sent to the post office box in Clark’s name. The refunds were in the names of several other people and the amount of money received was estimated at more than $635,000.
In April 2013, Clark was allegedly observed removing mail from the post office box. The mail in the box included two U. S. Treasury checks in the amount of $5,482.26 and $1,265, respectively. Neither of the checks were in Clark’s name.
A federal Grand Jury handed down an in- dictment against Clark on Wednesday.
Shelton “Calico” Mar- shall, the father of 6 chil- dren, has had a lot to deal with over the past few years. He was going through a lot with family issues and was expecting his seventh child.
On March 1st, Marshall’s wife, Nicole, returned home to find him dead. He was only 38-years-old.
“Shelton never had any health problems of any kind, and wasn’t complaining about anything in regards to his health.
‘That’s why his death has shocked all of us, and we still don’t know why he died.”
Marshall was born in Miami, but grew up in the West Tampa area. He at- tended Brandon High School and worked for Greyhound Bus Lines for three years be- fore leaving and assuming a series of odd jobs.
Marshall had only two siblings, and his wife, mother, Cynthia Mar- shall, and other family members are planning a me- morial service for him.
“He was a great dad, hard

worker, and great husband,” said Nicole.
“He had been depressed about what was going on in his life and was under a lot of stress. But, he still managed to do the things he was sup- posed to do and he never put any of his problems off on others.”
Leaders Kick-Off Child Abuse Prevention Month
Each year, more than 200,000 allega- tions of child abuse are investigated. The month of April has been designated as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Currently, there are more than 2,000 children in Hillsborough County who have been used or neglected.
In an affect to bring awareness to and
focus on prevention, the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, in collab- oration with the Department of Families and Children, kicked-off a month-long campaign to raise awareness and preven- tion.
Additionally, a local community-based initiative has also been launched.
After more than 90 years at 1415 5th Ave in Ybor City, Joy Tabernacle Cathedral, the former Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, will hold its final service on Sunday, April 5, 2015 Resurrection Sunday (Easter Sunday). You may have attended the Day Care Center, you could have been baptized at this historical site, maybe you were married in this building, you or your baby was dedicated, or you attended one of its many musicals. It was known for its many singings and as the First Church with a Nursery/Day Care Center in this community.
The building was originally built in the early 30s and has had many outstanding services for the Tampa Bay Community.
We ask you to come to this final curtain call before the building is demolished by the new owners.
It is scheduled to become a parking lot just days after this last service.
The congregation has purchased the Church Building on 34th Street and 18th Ave, the former Victory Tabernacle Baptist Church. In this last service at the historical site, the Senior Pastor, Archbishop Clarence E. Davis, Sr., will preach on the subject “Jesus Got Up and So Can You.”
The Archbishop said, we have resurrection power in us, therefore, we do not have to stay down, therefore, let us get up from the ashes of inequality, second class citizenship and poor education, etc. Let us redirect our sons and daughters away from absurd killings, babies out of wedlock, drugs and alcohol, etc., and direct them into a life of wholeness in education, spirituality, marriage and family that our community will blossom as it can and should.
We, said the Archbishop, are the sons and daughters of Kings and Queens, warrors; we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people that should make our ancestors proud as they look down on us. The Leadership Team and membership is appealing to the community to come and participate in this finial service and become part of this historical moment in time.
This Easter, join us at Victory Tabernacle UPC on Sunday, April 5th at 1:00 p. m.
as we celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
We will also be celebrating our
11th year Church Anniversary!
