Four Bucs Who Could Play A Lot In Saturday's Preseason Opener
Bucs Coach Todd Bowles Gives Injury Updates On Mike Evans, Ryan Jensen
  MIKE EVANS
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers were without two of their Pro Bowlers on offense for Saturday’s training camp practice, as wide receiver Mike Evans and center Ryan Jensen were unable to take part in the workout.
After practice, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles up- dated the status of both play- ers as they look ahead to their first preseason game next week.
RYAN JENSEN
“He’s sore,” Bowles said of Evans, who left last Fri- day’s practice with a ham- string injury. “He’s day-to-day. He’ll be fine. It’s just a matter of when we put him out there.”
Jensen’s situation ap- pears to be much more seri- ous, as the knee injury he suffered on the second day of training camp is expected to force him into an extended absence.
            KYLE TRASK
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers' first preseason game of 2022 is only eight days away and many players are already eager for some "live" action to break up the monotony of training camp.
They will get that action on the evening of Saturday, August 13 when the Miami Dolphins come to town for a game at Raymond James Sta- dium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
QB Kyle Trask Head Coach Todd Bowles has already said that

Won't Trade Him Amid Contract Dispute
Tom Brady will not play in the first preseason game, which comes as no surprise. The Buccaneers still have three other quarterbacks on the roster, but it's safe to say they know the least about second-year man Kyle Trask.

The Bucs still have the tal- ented duo of Lavonte David and Devin White at the center of their defense and both are likely to play nearly every snap if they re- main healthy.

WR Tyler Johnson
The Buccaneers have an absolutely loaded depth chart at receiver this summer and it seems likely that there won't be enough room on the 53-man roster to keep all of that talent.

retired Ali Marpet.
49ers Expected To Hold Onto QB Jimmy Garoppolo Until Cut-Down Day
JIMMY GAROPPOLO
When the San Francisco 49ers take the field for Week 1 on Sept. 11, it's likely quarter- back Jimmy Garoppolo won't be with them.
However, according to
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the 49ers plan to keep Garoppolo for now.
While Rapoport said there's "no clear" trade partner for Garoppolo, things can change between now and the start of the regular season.
The 49ers have until 1 p.m. on Aug. 30 to cut Garoppolo. If not, they'll be responsible for his $24.2M salary in 2022, which comes with a cap hit of $26.9M.
Kareem Hunt has re- fused to take part in portions of training camp as he seeks a new contract, and he has reportedly asked the Cleve- land Browns to trade him. It does not sound like that re- quest will be granted, how- ever.
Cleveland.com reported on Sunday that the Browns have told Hunt they are not going to trade him. Hunt has been a “hold-in” at train- ing camp thus far, meaning he is only participating in in- dividual drills.
The Browns reserve the right to fine Hunt for his re- fusal to take part in team drills. The team does not

plan to wave those fines. Hunt is in the final sea- son of his contract and wants a new deal. He signed a two- year extension in 2021 that is worth up to $13.25 million. There are incentives in the contract that are tied to him
being on the active roster.
