Community Invited To Attend ‘Jazz On The Lawn @ Edison’ Event
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
On Saturday, October 27th, two organizations will provide a full day of jazz, en- tertainment, and a wide as- sortment of fun activities. The event, entitled “Jazz On The Lawn @ Edison,” will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at 7 p.m., at Edison Elemen- tary School, 1607 E. Curtis Street, Tampa, FL 33610.
The event will offer a day filled with live jazz and enter- tainment, food, a variety of local vendors, and fun activi- ties for children in a fall festi- val themed environment.
It will cater to local stu- dents, schools, surrounding communities, small busi- nesses, and organizations in the target area. It also offers a positive, family-friendly at- mosphere for families in the communities.
It is being sponsored by Project LINK, Inc., and What We Could Be Exchange, Inc., (WWcB), and is designed as a community event that will bring awareness and raise
funds. The funds are desig- nated for educational re- sources for failing schools and impoverished communi- ties in East Tampa and South Seminole Heights.
The two organizations be- lieve that while a single or- ganization can make some difference in a neighborhood, the collective actions of resi- dents and business partners together can greatly impact the entire community.
They also work to close the achievement and income gaps by aligning the best of the community’s gifts, cul-
ture, and expertise to reach a common vision.
General admission is free. Anyone wishing to obtain more information or to ob- tain VIP tickets can visit the website at www.jazzon- thelawnedison.eventbrite.co m.
