  Local Pastor, Bible Teacher Passes
Pastor Rudolph (Rudy) Alexander, founder of His Hands Community Bible Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace, transi- tioned on Friday, October 2, 2020. He was a Tampa native and proud graduate of Blake High School’s Class of ‘59 Yellow Jackets! Pastor Rudy, as he was known, was mar- ried to Martha Alexander; they served as a cohesive team in King- dom Building efforts!
Pastor Rudy retired as an AT&T executive in the Northeast. He was the first African-American Vice President.
He was a learned man and his accomplishments were numerous. Pastor Rudy earned degrees from the University of Oklahoma, Uni- versity of Southern California, and Massachusetts Institute of Technol- ogy (Sloan Fellow).
PASTOR RUDOLPH (RUDY) ALEXANDER
While these secular accomplish- ments are noteworthy, Pastor Rudy realized that the knowledge he acquired at Dallas Theological Seminary, far exceeded all else, and
were most significant as the knowl- edge that he acquired of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, was most significant.
Pastor Rudy was a true servant and served as a Deacon, Minister, Ministry Consultant, and Equipping Pastor in the past. In addition, his record of community service and in- volvement is extensive. Pastor Rudy served as General Chairman for the Juvenile Diabetes Walk for a Cure; United Way Campaigns; Ca- reer Counseling, Compaq Board Member, University of Oklahoma Board of Advisors; and numerous other initiatives. Further, Pastor Rudy served his country as Captain in the U. S. Air Force.
Pastor Rudy was described as a skilled preacher and teacher of God’s Word. “His goal was to equip individuals to know what God’s
Word says; what God’s Word means; and how they should apply God’s Word to their lives and thereby reflect His righteous image! One method he employed to accomplish this, was the introduc- tion of the Disciple Bible Study Pro- gram. He experienced great joy as he observed the students’ growth, develolpment and overall transfor- mation,” Mrs. Alexander stated.
A private Celebration of Life will be held for Pastor Rudy on Satur- day, October 17, 2020. Aikens Fu- neral Home will handle arrangements.
