Michelle Greene Rhodes is helping women start their own businesses, one nurse at a time!
Rhodes is the founder and CEO of Michelle Rhodes Media LLC, located in Tampa Florida, and uses her business to help nurses to personally meet their big goals outside of traditional roles along with their own per- sonal development.
According to Black Busi- ness, The RNterpriseTM Acad- emy was developed in 2016 and is a program that was created to not only help nurses meet their maximum potential but help them to avoid burnout — a common problem in health- care.
A nurse of 23 years herself, Rhodes reflects on how ther- apy after losing her mother and husband helped her put her life back on track and encouraged her to help others do the same.
“It was then I found my sense of purpose and a new way of legacy thinking that made me want to leave my mark in nursing, on behalf of my mother,” said Rhodes.
RNterpriseTM Academy pro- vides participants with 21 hours of coursework that fo- cuses on paid public speaking, business planning, business startup, and how to self-pub- lish books of their own. Her company is responsible for speakers, trainers, and nurse brands across the nation.
“After finding success with my first book RNterprise!, I knew there was a need for this type of personal development training for minority nurses,” she said.
“I heard reports of bullying, hostile work environments, and even racism at work from colleagues who felt stuck. I re- alized that with entrepreneur- ship, there was no ceiling and the lane that is created, is from one’s own expertise as a profes- sional nurse.”
