Bowles Says Bucs Feeling No Sense Of Urgency Regarding Offensive Line ...Yet
  Unexplained
Absence: 'I’m 45
Years Old, Man'
In the wake of his latest injuries along the offensive line, Bucs coach Todd Bowles said Sunday that the team will explore trade and waiver-wire options in the coming days as a matter of prudence — not panic.
Bowles had no immedi- ate update Sunday on the sta- tus of center Robert Hainsey (left ankle) or guard/center Nick Leverett (shoulder), both of whom ex-
Dolphins VP Of Communications Jason Jenkins Dies At 47
JASON JENKINS Jason Jenkins, who
spent nearly 14 years with the Miami Dolphins and eventu- ally became the team's senior vice president of communica- tions, died unexpectedly Satur- day, the team said. He was 47.
Jenkins joined the Dol- phins in 2009, after spending nearly seven years working with the San Francisco 49ers. He also worked at Texas Southern, Lehigh and Texas Tech -- his alma mater, which asked him to deliver a com- mencement address in 2018.
"I'm here to tell you, it won't be your geography that marks your journey," Jenkins said in that speech. "It'll be three things: the depth of your relationships, the foundation of your values and the courage of your decision-making. So my career, and life, has been awesome."
The Houston native is sur- vived by wife Elizabeth and three children. The Dolphins announced his death during their preseason game Saturday against Philadelphia.
Network reported that nei- ther player’s injury is consid- ered long-term.
Moreover, Bowles ac- knowledged the unit can af- ford no more injuries, but added he doesn’t feel a sense of urgency at the spot.
“Nobody’s going to give you a good football player, and nobody’s going to feel sorry for you,” said Bowles, whose team opens the 2022 season at Dallas in two weeks.
Tom Brady is back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but we still don't quite know what caused him to miss 11 days of training camp (unless you're still convinced by "The Masked Singer" theory).
Brady, for his part, does- n't seem interested in en- lightening the public on what happened, and that contin- ued on Saturday after the Bucs' preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts. Asked about the ab- sence during his postgame news conference, Brady's answer was at least honest in spirit.
Brady's full answer:
"It's all personal. Every- one's got different situations they're dealing with, so we all have really unique chal- lenges. I’m 45 years old, man. There’s a lot of s*** going on. You just got to figure out life the best you can. It's a con- tinuous process.

caneers, the week-plus off didn't appear to impact Brady on the field. The seven-time Super Bowl champion was sharp in his lone series against the Colts, going 6-of-8 for 44 yards in his only appearance of pre- season.
Will we ever find out what caused Brady's absence? Unless the quarterback wants us to, probably not. Then again, "The Masked Singer" is scheduled to pre- miere less than a month from now...
Panthers QB Sam
 Darnold (Ankle) Expected
To Miss 4-6 Weeks
Carolina Panthers quar- terback Sam Darnold is ex- pected to miss four to six weeks after suffering a high- ankle sprain in Friday’s pre- season finale versus the Buffalo Bills.
Head coach Matt Rhule confirmed Saturday that Darnold's MRI showed he has a "significant" injury that could take some time to heal.
The second-year Panther sustained the sprain in the second half of last night's game, just four days after los- ing the quarterback competi-

tion to fellow 2018 first- rounder Baker Mayfield.
At the time he left the field, he had completed 5 of 11 passes for 49 yards.
    Giants’ Tyrod Taylor
 Carted To Locker Room
It’s the final preseason game of 2022, and the New York Giants already have a laundry list of injuries. The Giants opted not to play start- ing quarterback Daniel Jones, likely in light of the offensive line injuries, so Tyrod Taylor got the nod. Unfortunately, toward the end of the first quarter, Tay- lor took a big hit.
Taylor was leading the Giants on a drive when he scrambled to the right after coming under pressure. New York Jets defensive end Michael Clemons. At 6- foot-5 and 270 pounds, Clemons is considerably

Taylor managed to jog off the field but was taken to the medical tent for further evaluation and eventually carted to the locker room with an apparent back injury.
