AIKENS
MR. PIERCE LEE DENNIS
A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Pierce Lee Dennis who called from his earthly toil to rest in the loving arms of the Heavenly Father on Monday, August 22, 2022, will be held on Saturday, September 3rd, 11:00 a. m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 2901 N. Highland Ave., Tampa, FL 33602, Apostle Samuel Phillip, Sr., officiating. The in- terment will follow at Orange Hill Cemetery.
An addition to the union of Samuel Dennis and Annie Mae Pierce, Daddy was born in Sandersville, Georgia on Au- gust 22, 1932. A polymath, Daddy’s competency was mani- fested in each of his endeavors. A talented professional painter, Daddy worked residential and commercial projects, in the suburb, Carrollwood. He was also employed at local radio station WTMP for 30 years, he had the opportunity to support the station’s DJs and adminis- trative staff, and he met popu- lar R&B singers when they came through. Daddy finally re- tired from Carnation Corpora- tion to the extent as he was a faithful caretaker and wor- shiper at his beloved Zion Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his brother who died in infancy; loving compan- ions, Ms. DeLoris, and Ms. Eve; and stepson, Darrell.
He leaves to cherish his memory with: his daughters, Piercesene, and Ava (Jerome); son, Alvin (Kimberly); grand- children, Addidas, and Cha- fonda (Emery); great-grandchild, baby Kings- ley; stepchildren and grandchil- dren, Chandra, Dwight, Antoine, Kerry, and Quinton; loyal and attentive friends, Mr. Simon, Mr. Joe, Ms. Rhonda, Mr. Don, Mr. Ron, Ms. Michelle, Mr. Jerry, Ms. Kia, and Ms. Joshala; and god- daughter, Ms. Victoria. We are grateful for each of you. We are humbled by your grace and compassion, and we are so thankful for your expressions of love and care for Daddy and our family.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Fri- day, September 2nd, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service. We are following CDC guidelines.

MRS. GERALDINE CHASTAIN
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Geraldine Jerita Chastain of Tampa, FL, who passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2022, will be held on Saturday, September 3rd, 2:00 p.m., at Mt. Olive AME Church, 1902 W. La Salle St., Tampa, FL 33607, Pastor Gregory V. Gay, Sr., officiating.
Geraldine, affectionately nicknamed “Gerry,” was born on June 25, 1932; the only child to James Blair and Cora Chastain. She was raised by her aunt Louise Williams since birth. Geraldine was a loving mother of six chil- dren and was always giving her time to others.
She retired from the City of Tampa, Sanitation Department where she served as a supervisor. She enjoyed volunteering with the Girl Scouts, solving word puz- zles, and going on shopping sprees with her daughters. So- cially, she was a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Amicae and the Brown Buddies. She was a former member of Greater Mt. Carmel AME Church and a faith- ful member of Mt. Olive AME Church, where she served as a Stewardess, a member of the Young Johnson Usher Board, president of the MOST, and a member of the Food Bank Min- istry. She loved the AME Church and singing AME hymns.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, James Blair and Cora Chastain; aunt, Louise Williams; brother, John Blair; devoted son-in-law, Eugene McRae; granddaughter, Monique Coy; and great-granddaughter, Breanna Roberts.
She leaves precious memories with: her children, Sylvia McRae, Debrah Coy, Mark Council, Donna Burton (Joseph), Marvin Hardy, and Marena Hardy; grandchildren, Pamela Coy, Tameka Wilson, Jamilya McAllis- ter (Charlie), Kevin Coy, Monica Coy, Christopher McRae, Ashley Witherspoon (Nesha), Chaunte Lockhart, and Irvin Singletary, Jr.; great-grandchildren, El- dridge Reed, III, Eddrick Reed, Malik Wells, Mahogany Coy, Kris- ten Hadley, SR Roberts, IV, Zharia Wilson, Kevin Coy, Jr., Shamariah Priester, Dominick Roberts, Jamil Mayo, and Grey- sen Burton; cousins, Ossie Lee Hendricks, Darrell Moody, The Staley Family, and many others; eleven great-great-grandchil- dren; and other sorrowing rela- tives and friends.

A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Leo “LJ” Jones, of Gibson- ton, FL., who passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022, will be held on Saturday, September 3rd, 1:30 p.m., at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd, Tampa 33610, Rev. Lynette Barrett officiating.
Leo, affectionately nick- named “LJ’, was born on Septem- ber 3, 1953 in Abbeville, Alabama to Ernest, Sr. and Laney Jones. He graduated from Abbeville High School and went on to serve intheU.S.Army.Hewasama- chine operator in the logging in- dustry for over twenty years. In his spare time, he enjoyed listen- ing to music and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Ernest, Sr. and Laney Jones; brothers, Ernest Jones, Jr. and Nathaniel Jones; sisters, Rosie Lee Brown, Essie Thomas, Mary Chisolm, and Ber- nice Brooks; granddaughter, Brittany Jones; and grandsons, Katwon and Khalif Jones.
He leaves precious memories with: his wife, Mae Jones; chil- dren, Stephanie Jones, Kal Jones (Tula), Kengie Jones, Crystal Garner, and Jonathan Jones (Renee); stepson, Marlon Thomas; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Moses Jones; and sis- ters, Hattie McAllister, Annie Lou Dozier, and Ruthie Sampson (Doug); and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Homegoing and Celebra- tion of Life Service for Ms. Vice- ola Patricia Johnson will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Mis- sionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott Street, Tampa, FL 33605, with Minister Bruce Bryant, offi- ciating.
Beloved Viceola Patricia Johnson was a native of Tampa, Florida, and a resident for 67 years. She attended Hillsbor- ough County Public Schools. She was a member of New Hope M. B. Church. She had a heart of gold and was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Everyone loved her and she was fun to be around.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Lula Mae John- son; grandparents, Bennie and Lissie Johnson; brother, Paul Johnson; and sister, Pamela Johnson.
She leaves to cherish behind her loving memories: daughter, Katina Johnson; son, Andra Johnson (Nette); brothers, Henry Baker, III (Alicia), Shelton Danzy, and Reginald Johnson; sisters, Valerie Johnson, Pamela Wright (Johnny), Sharon Her- nandez (Rodney); grandchil- dren, Derrick, Pearl, Tyree (Daveshia), Andra, Anterica, Quindise, Drakeciah, Danayiah, Drelin, Andra, Jr.; step-grand- children, Zachary, KeKe, Nige- ria; 13 great-grandchildren, goddaughter, Tammy and god- son, Greg; best friends, Delores Cherry, Tiny and Toni; and a host of cousins, friends and relatives.

Mr. Frederick M. D. Bell was born on March 2, 1996, Tampa, Florida, to parents; Elnora Yancy-Foster and the late Fred- erick D. Bell. He attended public schools throughout Hillsbor- ough County. Frederick (Fred- die) was kindhearted, loving, and enjoyed making others smile.
Mr. Frederick was preceded in death by: his father, Frederick D. Bell; stepfather, Patrick Fos- ter; grandparents, Mamie Jenk- ins, Freddy Haynes, Minnie, and Leon Drew.
