Ragan Park Hosts Grand Opening Of New Facility
Always considered a great place for seniors, Ragan Park on Lake Avenue held a big grand opening celebration for a new senior facility at the park.
Richedean Ackbar and Betty Bell went to Greg Bayor, City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Director, in January 2014 and requested use of the park for senior activities. Now, they have a per- manent spot in East Tampa for the seniors. (PHOTOS BY SYLVESTER HARRIS)
Enjoying their day at Ragan Park were: Sadie Steven, Janice Knox, Carrie Rhanes, and Helen Rhanes.
Sizzling Seniors: Sunday Bivens-Reese, Lula Bennifield, Es- telle Acree, Helen Adams, Recy Cochran, Laverne Hooper, and Nelsie O’Banner.
Beatrice Walker, Shirley McIntyre, Ruby Williams, Betty Brunett, and Frances Williams are enjoying themselves at the new facility.
Joining in on the fun were: Brenda Cato-Gatling, Elaine John- son, Wanda Roson, Valerie Clark, and Ms. Verdell.
Thanks to Richedean Ackbar (left) and Mrs. Betty Bell, the East Tampa seniors don’t have to worry about a place to call their own anymore.
