Kevin Love Reportedly Plans On Returning To Cavs
Paul Pierce Opts Out Of Contract
Paul Pierce will be 38 next season.
This has been expected for a while even the Washington Wizards admitted this was coming — but on Saturday Paul Pierce made it official, he is becoming a free agent.
Pierce will turn 38 next sea- son, but his “old man at the Y” crafty game still gets the job done — he averaged 11.9 points a game and shot 38.9 percent from three. He has thrived more as a small four the last few seasons.
Teams are going to be lined up to land him.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cava- liers fans can breathe easier, Kevin Love plans on coming back to the Cavaliers next sea- son. That's the word from Fox Sports Ohio's Sam Amico, who tweeted, "Kevin Love has in- dicated to [the] Cavs recently he plans to return."
Questions about Love's fu- ture popped up when he opted out of his contract last week, making him a free agent on July 1. While Love said as re- cently as May 31 that he planned to remain with the Cavaliers, doubt began to creep up when national re- ports surfaced that teams such as the Lakers, Celtics, Blazers and Rockets would make a run at him.
The thought was if Love ac- tually visited with other teams, could they convince him to leave his seemingly ideal situa- tion in Cleveland? Maybe? Perhaps?
KEVIN LOVE
Griffin indicated last week, "I think he has been very clear with what his intentions are all along."
The Cavaliers are expected to offer Love a five-year max deal worth about $100 million, The Plain Dealer reported. Or he could sign a 1-and-1 deal, giving him the maximum salary for next year with a player option the following season.

NASCAR Supports Confederate Flag Ban
For a sport with a strong Southern following and a sym- bol with deep Southern routes, NASCAR isn't looking to asso- ciate itself with the Confeder- ate flag anytime soon.
NASCAR released a state- ment detailing its stance on the Confederate flag early last week, saying it supported South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley's request to have it re- moved from the state's capitol grounds and the flag wouldn't be allowed "in any official NASCAR capacity."
Since then, some of NASCAR's biggest names have come out supporting the ban- ishment of the Confederate flag at events, including Dale
Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon. Still, Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Sonoma in California was the first test for NASCAR's noncommittal ban. While NASCAR says it banned the use of it a while ago, many fans are still able to display the flag from their campers and vehicles at racing events.
