Liuget Sues Trainer Over
A group of Pro Football Hall of Famers led by Eric Dickerson is demanding health insurance coverage and a share of NFL revenues or else those former players will boycott the induction cer- emonies.
In a letter sent to NFL Commissioner Roger Good- ell, NFLPA Executive Direc- tor DeMaurice Smith and Hall of Fame President David Baker, 21 Hall of Fame members cited them- selves as "integral to the cre- ation of the modern NFL, which in 2017 generated $14 billion in revenue."
Among the signees were Dickerson, who is listed as chairman of the newly created Hall of Fame Board the group has formed; Jim Brown; Joe Namath; Lawrence Taylor; and Sarah White, the widow of Reggie White.

There were questions, though, about how well-orga- nized the group was. Two players whose names are on the letter said they were not part of the boycott effort. An- other name on the list of 22 signees including Sarah White was Carl Ellard, but no one by that name has played professional football. Former Vikings defensive end Carl Eller, however, is a Hall of Famer.
Los Angeles Chargers de- fensive tackle Corey Liuget has sued the trainer who he says is responsible for his four-game suspension for using a performance-enhanc- ing substance.
Liuget filed suit against Ian Danney and his Ari- zona-based business in Los Angeles, asking for a jury trial and no less than $15 mil- lion in damages.
Liuget says in the suit that Danney injected him with a substance banned by the FDA and the NFL. He also says Danney gave him another product that re- quired a prescription which Liuget did not have.
A message left with Dan- ney's office was not returned Tuesday.
Liuget, who is in his sev- enth year in the NFL, said in

a statement sent through his attorney that he is filing suit because the suspension has compromised his ability to be a leader in the community and that he wants to set the record straight.
Liuget is eligible to re- turn to the Chargers after their Sept. 30 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
