Citywide Revival Planned To ‘Reverse The Curse’
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
Citing the instances of violence, the spread of disease, and other factors, a group of Tampa clergymen have planned a revival. Entitled “Revers- ing The Curse,” the event will take place on Monday, October 5th, 7 p.m., at the College Hill Church of God in Christ, corner of N. 30th Street and E. Diana Avenue.
Rev. Clarence Nathan, Senior Pastor of New Victory Baptist Church said, “So far, there have been 21 countless homicides of young Black men. Tampa is #1 in the new cases of HIV/AIDS. We are leading the state in new cases, and many of the new cases being discovered are in the 33610 zip code. And, we have experi- enced the lowest in education scores in the state. These things seem to go unnoticed.”
Rev. Nathan said Pastors on Pa- trol are concerned about the commu- nity and have taken an active role since its inception.
Rev. Nathan said, “When Middle- ton High School was under siege, we

stood on the corners surrounding that school for 3 years everyday and we changed the culture.
“We are trying to create a relation- ship between the police and the Black community. We are trying to get things back in order, Rev. Nathan who is a retired lieutenant with the Tampa Police Department said.

When I Sense That All Is Well
Lord, I worship You for al that You are. You are my Lord in the good times as well as the difficult. On the mountaintop as well as in the valley. I praise You in times of great blessing as well as in times of great challenge. It is because of You that I can stand strong, even when I feel weak. For I know that when I am weakest You show Yourself strong. I am grateful for Your salvation deliverance, protection, goodness, and blessings in my life every day. I know that everything I have comes from You. Be- cause of Your great strength I go from glory to glory and strength to strength no matter what is happening in my life (PSALM 84:7).
Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
