78th Street Community Library Essay Contest
Are you a 5th grader? Submit an essay about your role model and you could win a laptop! Essays need to be sub- mitted along with a completed registration form to the 78th Street Library by Friday, October 16th at 6 p. m.

The John F. Germany Library from 3-5 p. m. – “Free People of Color: Soldiers In the Civil and Revolution- ary Wars” and meet the local author, Gigi Best as she speak about her genealogical research. A book signing will follow.
The 78th Street Library from 4-5 p. m. - Computer Tutoring (Microsoft software, email and internet).
The Robert W. Waunders Library from 6-10 p. m. - The Robert W. Saunders Library Founders and the Greater Tampa Chapter of Jack and Jill of American, Inc. presents “Our Lives, Our Children, Our Legacies.” The guest speaker will be Iiyasah Shabazz, daughter of Malcolm X.
