Promoted To Oversee Music Production At Fox Network
The Fox Broadcasting Company has found a new SVP Creative Music and Pro- duction in Mamie Cole- man. She has been promoted to the position where she will continue to oversee all day- to-day music production at the network, negotiating and executing the music and tal- ent licensing agreements for all of Fox’s primetime show marketing and promotions.
According to Deadline, Coleman makes the move from her previous position as VP Music and Production of On-Air Promotion at Fox. She worked closely with TV stu- dios, production companies, major record labels, record- ing artists and agents to se- cure talent and production materials for the company’s on-air promotional cam- paigns. tiated deals for Fox’s music- centric slate of shows includ- ing Empire, Star, Beat Shazam, Showtime at the Apollo and Grease: Live.
Reportedly, a personal let- ter penned from the late Tupac Shakur to singer Madonna will no longer be put up for auction. A judge is said to have blocked the item.
A spokesperson for Gotta Have Rock and Roll website and Lutz says, Madonna and her legal army have taken what we believe to be a completely baseless and mer- itless action to temporarily halt the sale of Ms. Lutz’s legal property. We believe that her intent is nothing more than to besmirch the good reputations of the auc- tion house and Ms. Lutz. Madonna’s allegations will be vigorously challenged and refuted in a court of law in due course.
We’re told that the singer filed an emergency court order Tuesday in NYC to block the website gottahave- rockandroll.com from selling the letter and a other per- sonal memorabilia — includ- ing personally worn panties.
Madonna and Tupac Shakur were rumored to be in a rela- tionship. The letter seems to confirm it.
As previously reported, for years, it had been rumored that the pair had some type of relationship. And this let- ter,may confirm this.
Written while he was in prison, Tupac appears to end their romantic relation- ship because of her race. He writes:
For you to be seen with a black man wouldn’t in any way jeopardize your career, if anything it would make you seem that much more
open and exciting. But for me at least in my previous per- ception I felt due to my ‘image’ I would be letting down half of the people who made me what I thought I was. I never meant to hurt you.
He also hints that some type of disagreement hap- pened between the two, over something that Madonna said about rappers and bas- ketball players in an inter- view.
Childish Gambino’s ‘Redbone’ Goes Double Platinum
Childish Gambino’s ré- sumé just got more impressive. The versatile entertainer’s “Redbone” single was certified double platinum by the RIAA on July 10, just a little over two months after it went platinum.
The success of “Redbone,” which appears on Gambino’s Awaken, My Love album, is hardly surprising as the track has remained on the Billboard Hot 100 for 31 weeks.
The funky cut was certainly popular upon its release in No- vember 2016, but the record got an extra boost in 2017 thanks to its inclusion in the hit film Get Out. The song is fea- tured in the opening credits of the movie, setting a unique mood for Jordan Peele’s hor- ror film.
Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino is having a good 2 years.
