Two Charged With Armed Robbery
Two Teenagers Injured In East Tampa Shooting
Two Tampa men were arrested early Thursday in connection with a robbery. The robbery had taken place earlier in the evening.
punched the man in the face, but didn’t take any- thing. They did not ap- proach the third victim.
The men then drove away.
A short time later, the first victim learned that the credit cards had been used at Walmart on Dale Mabry, at a Marathon Gas Station, and at McDonalds.
The Tampa Police De- partment is currently investi- gating a shooting that left two young adults injured. The incident took place shortly before 11 p.m., Wednesday.
Police officers were dis- patched to 9002 N. 40th Street, in reference to a shooting. The officers located two teenagers, ages 18 and 19, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police said the 18-year- old suffered a non-life threat-
ening injury. The 19-year-old was seriously injured. Both teenagers were transported to a local hospital. Police said the 19-year-old remains in serious, but stable condition. The names of the victims have not been released.
Detectives are actively in- vestigating the shooting, but no arrests have been made. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Tampa Police Department at (813) 231-6130.
According to police, three people were walking near the intersection of Lemon and N. Oregon Av- enue, around 1 a.m. Thurs-
day morning. The victims, who police have not identi- fied, said they noticed a black Nissan Altima drive past them. The car traveled down the street, turned around came back toward them.
The vehicle stopped next to the victims and one of the men in the car asked if they were going to a party. The driver then

got out of the vehicle and grabbed a wrist purse from one of the victims. It contained $20 and credit cards.
The passenger got out of the car and approached the second victim. The passenger then

the crime.
Alonzo Mainer, 25, was
charged with robbery and pos- session of cannabis. He was re- leased after posting a $2,500 bond.
Travon Miller, 24, was charged with possession of cannabis, robbery, and four counts of unauthorized use of a credit card. His bond was set at $7,000.

hit and run
accident that
left a woman
dead. The ac-
cident took
place shortly after 10:30 p.m., Tuesday at the intersection of W. Waters Avenue and Wilsky Boulevard.
According to police, Ms. Sherry Lynn Hunter, 61, of Tampa, was crossing W. Waters Avenue just east of Wilsky Boulevard when she was struck by an unknown vehicle. The ve- hicle was traveling westbound on W. Waters Avenue.
Ms. Hunter died at the scene as a result of her injuries. Traffic Homicide investiga- tors were called to the scene and determined that the vehicle is a Toyota with front-end damage to the grill and headlight. It has been determined that the sus- pected vehicle is a Tacoma pickup truck, silver in color, manufactured between 2005
and 2011.
