LAWSON
MR. LESPY NELSON, SR. ‘BUCK’
Mr. Lespy Nelson, Sr., 93, of Tampa, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Memorial Hospi- tal. Funeral services will be con- ducted Saturday, April 20, 2019, at 11 a.m., at Mt. Pleasant M. B. Church, 2002 N. Rome Avenue, Rev. Dr. C. T. Kirkland, Pastor, Rev. J. Jackson, officiating. In- terment to follow in Garden Of Memories Cemetery.
Mr. Nelson was born August 20, 1925, in Marianna, FL to the late Lucious and Lillie Nelson. At an early age, the family moved to Tampa, where Mr. Nelson was educated in the Hillsborough County Public Schools.
After World War II was de- clared, at the age of 18, Mr. Nel- son was drafted into the United States Navy and Marine Corps, where he served until WWII ended in 1945. He was honorably discharged April 5, 1946.
Upon returning to his home- town of Tampa, Mr. Nelson gained employment with the for- mer firm Martin Outdoor Adver- tising Company as a Bill Poster and remained with the firm after it was sold to Foster and Kleiser.
He retired as Superintendent and Foreman of the Posting De- partment with the Patrick Media Group after 43 years of service on February 28, 1990. Not one to shy away from work, he later worked with several security companies as well as delivered Meals on Wheels to many homebound fam- ilies.
Mr. Nelson was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #167.
On December 8, 1946, Mr.
Nelson married Catherine Mon- cur Thompson and to this union were seven boys and eight girls born.
Mr. Lespy Nelson was pre- ceded in death by: his parents, Lucious and Lillie Nelson; his wife, Catherine Moncur Thomp- son Nelson; 2 sons, Carlton A. Nelson and Kenneth A. Nelson; and his 5 sisters, Lucille Mc- Cloud Parker, Ruby Reese, Lula Bell Allen, Lillia C. Paramoure Bryant, and Easter Mae Gatlin.
Cherished memories he leaves to his children: Rev. Deb- orah B. Nelson, Dr. Lespy Nel- son, II, Michael Nelson, Catherine (George) Murphy, Ce- celia (Benjamin “Ted”) Lawson, Pastor Benjamin R. (Dabibere) Nelson, Star Thomas, Wendell (Stephanie) Nelson, of Deltona, FL, Vicki V. (Michael) Os- bourne, Karen Nelson, of An- chorage, AK, Sharon Nelson, of Orlando, Retired Chief Master Sgt. Ricky R. L. (Barbara) Nel- son, of Goldsboro, NC, and Bernadette Nelson, of New York, NY; 20 grandchildren, Telisa M. Nelson, of Atlanta, GA, Donna Marie, Lespy Nelson, III, Faith, Amanda Lynn, Sophenia Nelson, Christopher Harmon, Brittany Osbourne, Doreno- court, Mariah Nelson, Atwain, Alvin, and Willie, III Conners, Terry, Daniel, and Ricki Nole Nelson, Anthony, Crystal, Corey, Demar (Karen), Ter- rance, and Isonose; 17 great grandchildren, 6 nieces, Jeanette Davis, of Lakeland, FL, Shirley Williams, Sandra Lovelace, Marva Floyd, Cindy Reese, and Sherry Allen; 7 nephews, Robert Gatlin (Clarice), Raymond McCloud (Juanita), Rudolph McCloud, Odell Allen, Jr., Craig Reese, Randy Reese, and Ivan Reese; cousins, Betty Jo Hayes, Ethel Brantly, The Wilsons, Pease, Collins, Albury, Love and Sheehy Families, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The remains will repose Fri- day, April 19, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Lawson’s Funeral Home, 4535 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33713, with addi- tional visitation Saturday, 9:30 a.m. until funeral time.
Friends are asked to assem- ble at the church, Saturday, at approximately 10:45 a.m.

MRS. GENEVA NORMAN
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Geneva Norman, of Tampa, who passed on April 6, 2019, will be held on Saturday, April 20th, at 11 a.m., at Covenant Catalytic Church, 6212 N. 47th Street, Pastor Carnell Up- shaw, officiating. The interment will be in the Garden Of Memo- ries Cemetery.
Geneva was born to the late Joe and Rosa Lee Bennett, on January 5, 1936, in Tampa, FL. She met and married the love of her life, Ernest Norman, on June 30, 1959. They were mar- ried for 60 years.
She was a loving and devoted stay-at-home wife, mother, grandmother, and great grand- mother that loved caring for others throughout the family.
Her hobbies included ceram- ics, cooking, dancing, and mak- ing blankets.
She leaves to cherish her memories with children: Darryl Norman, Jacqueline Norman, Ernest Norman, Jr., and Charlen Capehardt, and spouse Lee Capehardt; grandchildren, April Norman Barkley, Natasha Norman, Rashaad Norman, Taralynn Norman, Laquita Carter, Alex Slater, Jnia Frazier, and Kadynce Norman; great grandchildren, Arianna Barkley, Ayden Barkley, and Samuel Austin, III; siblings, Corrine Spears and spouse Robert Spears, and Eloise Scott.
MR. ALSTIN G. GUICE
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Alstin G. Guice, who passed away in Tampa FL, on April 9, 2019, will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 10 a. m. at Gudes Fu- neral Home Chapel, 4050 East Hillsborough Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Guice was born January 31, 1977.
He leaves to mourn his pass- ing: his father, Albert Guice, Sr.; his mother, Thelma Guice; his brothers, Albert Guice, Jr., Allen G. Guice, Alexander Guice, Al- dolphus W. Guice and Alphonso J. Guice; his sisters, Criscelious Guice, Celeste L. Guice and Ce- leasia L. Guice; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

A Celebration of Life for Deacon James McMillan of Tampa, FL, who passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019, will be held on Saturday, April 20th, at 11 a. m. at New Greater Friend- ship M. B. Church, 3325 East Emma St., Tampa, FL 33610. Pastor Andrew Holder, officiat- ing. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
James McMillan was born on March 16, 1939, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Mr. Frank Ben- jamin McMillan, Sr. and Mrs. Turner Mae McMillan. He was educated in the Lowndes County Public School System. He then moved to Tampa, and worked as a Magazine Distributor for An- derson News. He was an Or- dained Deacon and after retiring, he maintained the River Grove Civic Association Park for 15 years.
James was preceded in death by: a sister, Linda Ayenia; brothers, Joseph McMillan, Clarence McMillan, and Ron McMillan.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Elaine McMillan; five daughters, Debo- rah (Cletus) McNeal, Sarah (Lewis) Carter of Ft. Walton Beach, Paulette McMillan (Joseph Spencer), Kimberly Robinson, and Victoria Robin- son, all of Tampa, three sons, James H. McMillan, Alexander Robinson and Bernard Robin- son (Andrea), all of Tampa; two brothers, Benjamin (Melinda) McMillan and Samuel (Dianna) McMillan of Valdosta, GA; four sisters, Bennie Phillips of Val- dosta, GA, Ernestine Carter of Tampa, Annie Ruth Lenard and Angie Hill of Valdosta, GA; two sisters-in-law, Ruby McMillan and Gloria McMillan of Tampa; 55 grandchildren, 28 great- grandchildren; special friend, David Virgil; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The visitation will be held at Gudes Funeral Home, 4050 E. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa, FL 33610, on Friday, April 19th, from 5 to 7 p. m.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Satur- day for the service at 10:45 a. m.
