Sentinel Photographer Hospitalized
Central Park Reunion Event Draws Hundreds
Julia Jackson, a photog- rapher for the Florida Sentinel Bulletin, has been hospitalized for 10 days with a staph infec- tion of her left leg.
Jackson said she was preparing to travel to Plant City two weeks ago to cover the 50-year reunion of the Marshall High school football team and students.
Jackson said she started feeling as if she was coming down with a cold, but later when she tried to walk, she couldn’t and immediately went to the emergency room.
After a few hours, doctors told Jackson she had an in- fection, blood clot, and poor circulation in her left leg. Since then, she’s been put on antibi- otics that has helped reduced the swelling, but she still can’t walk without the help of a walker.

“I don’t know how long I’ll be hospitalized, but I do want to say how grateful I am for all the prayers and visits I’ve re- ceived. I praise God for giving me a great medical team to look after me and get me back on my feet.”
Regardless of whether it was during the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, or 1990s, former residents of Central Park Village all met August 8th for a big reunion celebration.
Heading the effort was Jarvis Ball, who along with Clarence Jones and Keaira worked hard to make sure this reunion was one that would be talked about for a long time.
Before the reunion, a special tribute was given to the originator of the reunion, the late Jessie B. “Jet Set” Hudson.
