Local AKA Chapter Welcomes 71 New Members
The Gamma Theta Omega (GTO) chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. welcomed 71 new mem- bers to the organization on May 15, 2022.
Mrs. Tangela D. DuPree , president of GTO said, “As President of this dynamic Chapter, it is with extreme pride that I present the 71 newest members of Gamma Theta Omega Chap- ter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The talented new members will further contribute to the already sto- ried history of the organiza- tion. These ladies will join the existing members in cre- ating an even greater foot- print of service in the Tampa Bay community on behalf of Gamma Theta Omega Chap- ter.”
Membership Chairman, Deidre R. Jones said, "I am grateful to President DuPree and the member- ship for believing in the vi- sion to bring forward 71 dynamic and impressive lead-ers who will continue the work serving the Tampa Bay community and all mankind."
The candidates for mem- bership also participated in a community service event with Mr. Bubblez. Volun-
teers helped pack and load supplies like clean clothing, hygiene and health care items, new socks and under- garments to launch mobile shower units for Tampa's home-less community.
