Jones was the subject of a manhunt that began in Orlando and ended in Plant City last Wednesday.
According to police, the sus- pect has been identified as 43- year-old Majar L. Jones, of Orlando, who took a Ford F150 truck with a trailer attached to it from a home in Plant City. When the owner of the vehicle followed him in another vehi- cle, Jones allegedly shot at him, leaving two bullet holes in the victim’s truck.
According to police, the in- cident began in Orlando when Jones carjacked a vehicle. He then carjacked a 2009 Cadillac in Polk County and drove it to Hillsborough County. That ve- hicle was found abandoned less than a mile away on Interstate 4, on Thonotosassa Road in Hillsborough County.
Jones is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond. There is also a hold on Jones for other counties in which crimes were committed.
