Radio Show Attracts Older Listeners
New Radio Show Wants To ‘Change Your Life With Beauty’

It’s impossible for the 50- plus generation to find a radio station that plays music from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Both AM and FM radio sta- tions have competed for a much younger audience for decades, showing no interest in appealing to a more mature music audience.
For the past 8 years, DJ Cen-Flo has tried to close that gap with his “Saturday Night House Party” show broadcast on WMNF 88.5FM radio from 9 p.m. to 11 p. m.
“I started getting into being a DJ when I was in the Air Force in 1985. I’ve always been exposed to music, and I was a performer in the past.
“In the early 1990s I started rapping and was actually signed to a label for a year. But, the business of the industry didn’t work out for me. Now aside from my radio show, I DJ private parties and I’m also a songwriter.”
DJ Cen-Flo said he got his spot with WMNF after making contact with the station offi- cials on two occasions.
“After meeting with Randy Wynn, I was able to put together an audition and I got a spot. I automatically em- braced the old school format, and the show has become very popular.”
DJ Cen-Flo said he doesn’t have guests on his show, but he does acknowl- edge shout-outs, and he plays

requests.
“Although I don’t actually
have guests on my show, I have had the pleasure of inviting Joyce “Fenderella” Irby from Klymaxx, and I inter- viewed Michael Cooper of Con Funk Shun. I’ve also branched out to other artists.”
DJ Cen-Flo said he enjoys playing the kind of music that makes your feet move.
“Growing up in Detroit, I actually had the pleasure to meet the members of Parlia- ment-Funkadelic.
“I don’t just play main- stream. I dig deep into my li- brary and challenge the memories of people. I play the full version of my selections, and I believe I have the best show on radio.”
DJ Cen-Flo thanks WMNF for giving him this op- portunity, and says the station has something for everyone.
“I guarantee every listener will find something they like when they tune in.”

Mrs. Craig said she’s done a lot of re- search, and she’s more than ready to go.
“I grew up in the beauty industry, so this was ordained for me as a career.
“Growing up in that industry, we always gave people advice. I want to explore the criti- cal areas and promote everyone uplifting each other and sharing information so others can succeed. I want to showcase inner beauty and pass it on to others.”
