Ex-School Board Chair To Appear On Radio Show

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
On Saturday, the immedi- ate past Hillsborough County School Board Chairperson will appear on a morning radio show. Ms. Susan Valdes will appear on the “Let’s Talk About It.”
The show will air at 11 a.m., on WTMP AM 1150. The show is hosted by Pete Edwards and Al Lee.
Edwards said her ap- pearance is coincidental and not related to the recent con- troversy pertaining to the Hillsborough County School Board and that her appear- ance was scheduled more than two months ago.

Hillsborough County Schools Still Alive For Playoffs
Several Hillsborough County Schools are still alive for the playoffs after Friday night’s games.
Plant defeated Lakeland Kathleen, 35-24; Plant City, 47 and East Lake, 34; Armwood 44, Sebring 7; Tampa Bay Tech 31, Countryside 21; Jefferson 45-44 over Gibbs High; Bran- don 21, Lake Gibson 13; Jesuit 31, Lakewood 8; Tampa Catholic 62 and Trinity Prep, 14.
Region semifinal games on Friday night, 7:30 p. m. – 7A-2 - Plant at Lakeland; 7A-3 - Tampa Bay Tech at Plant City; 6A-2 – Brandon at Armwood; 5A-3 – Jefferson at Jesuit.
The region final games for Friday night: Tampa Catholic will travel to Ocala Trinity Catholic.
