Family Members Want Justice For 2 Women Who Were Murdered Recently
BY LEON B. CREWS Sentinel Staff Writer
On Halloween, October 31st, Tiffany James was shot to death as she was walking toward her apart- ment. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was seeking Darryl Williams for questioning, but he hired a lawyer, and refused to make any statements.
On November 7th, Erica Gaffney was found dead in her home by one of her chil- dren. Dave Allen is being sought for questioning in her murder.
Family members of both women are at a loss in ex- plaining what might have happened to their loved ones.
Vickie Pittman, Tiffany’s aunt, said they want Williams to admit to what he did.
Beulah James, Tiffany’s grandmother said, she was a person who loved people.

family.
“She took her time with
her children, and kept them involved in a lot of commu- nity activities. She always wanted them to know more about God, and she took the time to have them baptized.”
Ms. Beulah James said Tiffany attended college, and finished beautician’s school.
“She always listened to me, and gave her life to Christ. Although her body is dead, her soul is still with us. She’s truly in a heavenly home.”
DARRYL WILLIAMS .....was wanted for questioning.
The grandmother said as far as Williams is con- cerned, her granddaughter was tired of the foolishness.
“He was very controlling and wanted everything his way. I told her it was time for her to live a better life for Christ.
“As far as Darryl is con- cerned, he might get away, but he won’t’ get by. God will fix this.”
Tiffany’s mother, Ros- alyn (Roz) James said they need justice.
“We want peace in this. After she was killed, Darryl was sending me text mes- sages asking to see the twins. I told him to bring my daughter back. If I see him, I’ll probably wind up in jail, but thanks to God, I’ve been able to let that hate go.
“I do believe in family and I believe they were truly in love at one time.”
Roz James said she had been living in Texas up until two years ago when Tiffany asked her to come home.
ERICA GAFFNEY .....was murdered Nov. 7th
“I lived with them in New Tampa, and they came to- gether to drive me to Tampa from Texas.
“They had agreed to child support, and we all thought things were settled. They just grew apart.”
Tiffany’s mom said Williams was able to see his children whenever he wanted and she encouraged the children to talk to their father every day.
Erica Gaffney’s grand- mother, Ms. Fannie Keith said, Erica would send Dave to pick her children up and bring them to her.
“He’d never come in. He

was mild mannered and quiet.
“She was driving my Jeep, because she was help- ing me to get it repaired. We want that Jeep back, and we know it’s wherever he is.”
Gaffney’s daughter, Yannika said, Allen was a nice man and did everything for them.
Tiffany James and Erica Gaffney were laid to rest Saturday in separate services, and Hillsborough County Sheriff’s investiga- tors are still talking to the at- torney representing Williams, and are actively searching for Allen.
