For 15 years, Solange Richie has taken her love for thriller-based books and writ- ten a series of her own.
For the past seven years, Richie has been working on her first published novel, “The Burning Man,” and she’s excited and anticipating success.
“I grew up in Jamaica, and I was very much inspired by the culture there.
“I would describe my writ- ing style as being vivid and definitely showing my love for thrillers.”
Richie said she wrote her novel from a woman’s per- spective and the main charac- ter is a woman.
“No matter what I write, it reflects the West Indian cul- ture and its rich colors and history.
“I released my novel in September of 2015, and the interest continues to grow. It’s given me the energy to complete my next novel that will also be thriller-based.”
SOLANGE RICHIE
Richie said she’s also looking into adopting one of her novels in the future into a series or screenplay.
“I think it’s inspiring to have a strong woman in a leading role.
“Women aren’t taken seri- ously enough in certain are- nas when it comes to books or novels. The expectations are that the material will lack the machismo that most male au- thors exhibit. I want to appeal to all readers, not just men and women.”
Richie said she’s antici- pating great things in the near future, and she will be doing a lot of traveling promoting her novel, and gathering in- formation for her next novel.
