Sex Offender Gets Life For Raping And Infecting Nieces With HIV
David Wilson given life sen- tence.
HOUSTON, TX --- David Wilson has been sentenced to life in prison following the mo- lestation of his 23-month-old niece and a 14-year-old girl that resulted in the teen’s impregna- tion and infecting both with HIV.
The Texas resident has been registered as a sex offender since his first assault in 2005. Since the previous offense, he was found guilty ten years later in 2015 for the super aggra- vated assault of the toddler and teen. The toddler, who was also his niece, was sent to live with him and family in Houston due to ongoing drug abuse in the household. He received his sen- tencing Thursday, Mar. 17.
In November 2015, the tod- dler was taken to the doctor where she was diagnosed with HIV, genital herpes, and chlamydia. She was also forced to undergo genital reconstruc- tive surgery due to the infec- tion. The teen, who admitted to a social worker that she had been having sex with Wilson for two years prior to his arrest, was brought into the doctors for her pregnancy.
Chicago Musician’s Kindness Converts KKK Members
Daryl Davis and a former member of the Klan.
Honoring the 75th Anniver- sary of the first African-Amer- ican fighter pilots in American history, a multiple award-win- ning documentary called The Luft Gangster: Memoirs of a Second Class Hero features Tuskegee Airmen, fighter pilot (Red Tail), Lt. Col. Alexander Jefferson, 94.
Director/Producer, Mike Rott stated, “Alex is one of the few Tuskegee Airmen fighter pilots still living and our goal is to share his incred- ible story with as many people throughout the world as possi- ble. It’s apparent that racial tensions are still alive and well in America based on many current events and we all stand to gain from learning about Alex’s experiences, both now and for future generations.”
Lt. Col. Jefferson said, “Our story is one of survival, which everyone can relate to. We want the world to know... we held our heads high and we survived and flourished.”
In many ways, Lt. Col. Alexander Jefferson, USAF (Ret) was fighting a fierce battle before, during and
after his days as a Tuskegee fighter pilot (Red Tail) in World War II. Jefferson was shot down during a strafing mission over German-occu- pied southern France and spent nine months in Stalag Luft III, the same P. O. W. camp that was the scene of ‘The Great Escape.’ When lib- erated by General Patton’s 3rd Army, Lt. Col. Jeffer- son unknowingly became an eyewitness to the atrocities at Dachau, a Nazi Concentra- tion Camp. After heroically serving his country in the world’s worst war, Alex joy- fully returned home only to be greeted by racism, bigotry and segregation.
The Luft Gangster: Mem- oirs of a Second Class Hero, an award-winning film, is an inspirational and fascinating account of bravery, persever- ance and character. When he wasn’t fighting for his country, Jefferson was battling racism in his country.
The Luft Gangster: Memoirs of a Second Class Hero” will be released on both DVD and Blu-ray on March 22, 2016.
DALLAS, TX --- In addition to moving a crowd through music, Chicago blues musician, Daryl Davis is using the sim- ple method of kindness and friendship to win people over. And it happens that his tech- nique has worked on some un- expected people. In a documentary released during the SXSW festival, Davis re- veals that he convinced 25 men to leave the KKK with simply acts of the heart.
The documentary, Acciden- tal Courtesy, which premiered at the Texas festival, depicts Davis as he tells the tale of his lengthy journey as a Black man to approach and befriend white supremacists and members of the infamous Klan.
The film takes a walk back in time to 1983, when he played in an all-white, country lounge. According to Davis, he was ap- proached by a white man in the lounge who told him that he never heard a Black man play as well as Jerry Lee Lewis. After he told the man that he actually knew Lewis and that he was taught by a Black man, the two struck up a conversa- tion where the man revealed to be a Klansman.
Eventually, the conversation led to the friendship between Davis and Roger Kelly. Kelly later stepped down as the leader of the KKK in Mary- land. The documentary re- counts many other stories like them.
