“...And she, like a Samarian, long ago gave assistance to some strangers whose names she did not know...”
From Princess by James Tokley
Members of the Hillsbor- ough County Board of Com- missioners recognized Ms. LaToya Carter for providing assistance to a young mother and her children. Ms. Carter stopped and provided help after their vehicle caught fire on the Lee Roy Selmon Ex- pressway.
Ms. Carter said, “I’m very honored and humbled that those who service the commu- nity on a day-to-day basis, took the time to honor someone who felt they were doing the right thing at the right time. I’m very thankful to Commis- sioner Les Miller, Jr., for thinking of me.”
On the night of Monday, July 18th, Ms. Carter was trav- eling on the Lee Roy Selmon Crosstown Express when she came across a vehicle on fire.
