Summer Food Program Kicks Off June 13th
Hillsborough County will once again partic- ipate in the Summer Food Service Program. The program provides free, nutritious lunches and afternoon snacks to children throughout the county.
The program begins on June 13th and will conclude on August 3rd. The locations in which the food will be distributed are in area where 50% or more of the children qualify for free or
reduced lunch meals during the regular school year.
The lunches are available for all children under 18 years of age in the area. There are no applications or summer camp registration required.
The meals will be available at more than 50 parks and other community locations throughout the county.
Some of those loca- tions are: Al Barnes Park, Allen Temple AME Church, Belmont Heights Estates, Bethune Boys & Girls Club; Bible-Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace, Corner- stone Ministries, Fair Oaks Park, Apollo Beach Recreation Center, College Hill COGIC, Dover Boys & Girls Club, Brandon Recreation Center, Em- manuel P. Johnson Recre- ation Center, Forest Hills Community Center, George Jenkins Town N. Country Center, Gar- denville Recreation Cen- ter, Grant Park, Henry Ola Playground, North Tampa Boys & Girls Club, North Tampa Recreation Center, Oak Park Playground, Highland Pines Play- ground, Copeland Park, Desoto Park, Martin Luther King Center, Mango Recreation Center, and others.
