2 Deaths At Music
Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run Accident
SHIZER THORNTON
St. Petersburg Police re- ported that on Monday, May 30th at 9:30 p. m., Shizer Thornton, 57, was walking across Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Street, South at the inter- section of 20th Avenue.
Thornton was struck by a vehicle described as a dark col- ored (blue or black) SUV. The vehicle fled the scene and Thornton was pronounced dead at the scene by St. Peters- burg Fire Rescue.

Man Charged With DUI Manslaughter

St. Petersburg Police re- ported that on March 18th at 11:50 p.m., Morgan Donald Hill, 48, was crossing the street near the crosswalk of Central Avenue and 3rd Street in downtown St. Petersburg. A car driven by Souvanna Thongdara. 39, was travel- ing north on 3rd Street, North.
Thongdara’s vehicle struck Hill, and Thongdara fled the scene. He was stopped a short distance away by a responding patrol officer.
Thongdara, the lone oc- cupant of the car, was arrested for leaving the scene of a seri- ous bodily injury crash. Alco- hol was believed to be a factor.
Hill, who had been hospi- talized, died from his injuries hours after the accident.
After investigators received the results of a toxicology re- port on Thongdara’s blood he was charged with DUI manslaughter.

Festival May Be Drug Related
The Florida Highway Pa- trol has charged 31-year-old Robert Vance with two counts of attempted murder, leaving the scene of a crash with injury, and driving with a suspended license. His bond is set at $115,000.
Witnesses reported that Vance drove his vehicle over a motorcycle carrying a man and woman before fleeing.
Moments before the inci- dent, authorities said Vance exchanged words with the driver of the motorcycle, identified as Joseph Phillip Calderazzo, and his pas- senger, Melanie Ann Milinkovich.

Over the Memorial Day weekend, two people died at Tampa’s Sunset Music Festi- val at Raymond James Sta- dium.
Police said 22-year-old Alex Haynes, and 21-year- old Katie Bermudez died after attending the 2-day fes- tival. Haynes was hospital- ized Saturday and died Sunday, and Bermudez was hospitalized Sunday and died Monday.
As investigators wait for the results of toxicology tests, authorities said they may be drug related.

The festival was attended by 30,000 people and police said 57 people were hospital- ized.
Electronic music fans have a history of drug use and drug-related deaths, es- pecially like to the use of MDMA, also called ecstasy or Molly.
This was the fifth year the festival has been held at Raymond James Stadium. Police said 33 people were arrested and 16 marijuana citations were handed out, along with four noise com- plaints.

Doctor Charged With Molesting Girl, 15
Police in Windemere ar- rested a man suspected of sexual battery Wednesday and are still investigating whether he was involved in additional assaults after find- ing photos and videos of un- conscious and naked women in his home.
Darryl Patterson, 49, is facing one count of commit- ting sexual battery on a vic- tim physically unable to resist.
Police are still trying to identify some of the women from the photos and video.
Allegations of sexual bat- tery against Patterson were reported to law enforcement in 2012, but Windermere po- lice detectives dropped the investigation.
In December 2014, Pat- terson reported he had been

a victim of fraud and a detec- tive found older records re- garding the sexual assault allegations.
In May 2015 law enforce- ment officials searched Pat- terson’s home on Bayshore Drive in Orlando, and found additional photos and videos.
Patterson is being held on a $50,000 bond.
A Spring Hill doctor has been accused of molesting a 15-year-old girl who worked in his office part-time.
Dr. Jacques Aristilde
reportedly admitted to the crime when confronted by the girl’s parents, who said the inappropriate touching began May 3rd and continued until May 26th when their daughter told them what had happened.
Deputies said the girl be- lieved her encounters with Aristilde had started off jokingly, with him occasion- ally massaging her shoul- ders. She had worked in his office since the start of the school year in August.
On one occasion, reports indicate she came in wearing a dress. The teen told au- thorities Aristilde grabbed her by the waist and pulled her dress away from her body. Deputies said she also

reported that during another encounter, Aristilde touched her buttocks with an open hand, but she wasn’t sure if it was intentional and decided to keep the incident to herself.
Aristilde was arrested on a charge of lewd and lascivi- ous molestation. His bond was set at $10,000 and he has been ordered to wear a GPS monitor.
