MS. VIRGINIA HOPKINS
Ms. Virginia Hopkins of Tampa, passed away Mon- day, May 23, 2016.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 4 at 11 a. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, with Rev- erend Andre Saunders, offi- ciating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Hopkins was a native of Tuskegee, Alabama, and a resident of Tampa for 65 years. She was a graduate of Howard W. Blake High School, Class of 1968. Ms. Hopkins was a member of Greater Bethel M. B. Church.
She was preceded in death by: her father, William Hop- kins, Sr.; grandparents, Rev- erend Cleveland Sykes, Minnie Lou Sykes and Ethal Hopkins; and brother, William Hopkins.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Ber- nice Hopkins; three sons, Ty- rone Hopkins (Cathrine Johnson), and Tracey Hop- kins, both of Tampa, and Marcus Hopkins (Shelia) of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Tyreese Hopkins of Tampa, Marquesha Hopkins, Marcus Hopkins, Jr. and Steven Gar- zolas, all of Poinciana, FL; brothers, Micheal A. Hopkins (Mimi) and Joseph A. Hop- kins, both of Tampa; uncle, Raymond Hopkins and wife, Betty Jo; cousin, Rose Jones of St. Petersburg, FL; best friends, Linda and Roy Edman of Tampa; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.

MR. ELSIE HAMMOND, JR.
Mr. Elsie Hammond, Jr. passed away on May 22, 2016. He was born Septem- ber 3, 1946, in Tampa. He was a product of the Hillsbor- ough County School System, graduating from Middleton Senior High School. He worked for the City of Tampa, and retired from the Tampa Housing Authority.
He was married to the late Joan Hammond.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Elsie Ham- mond, Sr. and Georgia Lee; and sisters, Geraldine Ham- mond and Mary Patterson.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: son, Lamar Kendrick; sisters, Ruth Bar- ron, Reddick, FL, Myrtle James (Nathaniel), and Bar- bara Jackson, all of Zuber, FL; brothers, Ansel Ham- mond (Cat), and Selevin Hammond (Liz); stepson, Ste- vie, Tampa; a special angel; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and nephews, cousins and many other sor- rowing family and friends; and special family friend, Vi- vian Owens Hayward.

MOTHER THELMA HILL
Mother Thelma Hill of Riverview, FL, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 4, at 11 a. m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8616 Progress Boulevard, Reverend Dr. Samuel Maxwell, Sr., pastor, with Bishop Michael Lewis, offici- ating, with Pastor Antonio Hawkins, eulogist. Inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Mother Thelma Hill was a native of Cuthbert, GA, and a longtime resident of Tampa for over 65 years.
She was a loving mother of 11 children.
She was educated in Hills- borough County Public Schools and was formerly employed at S & S Cafeteria, Tampa Airport, Busch Gar- dens, Delmonte Foods, and retired as a Homemaker.
Mother Hill later fell in love and married Deacon Roosevelt Hill on June 19, 1967. To this union, 5 chil- dren were born.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Progress Village, and she also at- tended Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, True Love Missionary Baptist Church and First John Ministries.
She was a member of the Deaconess Boards, Choir Unions and Usher Unions.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Felton and Carrie (Betty) Graddy; and children, William Virgin, Louis Grooms, Sr., Mary Cross and Patricia Thurman.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: husband of 49 years, Deacon Roosevelt Hill; daughters, all of Tampa, Min- ister Cynthia Berry, Tawanda (Pop) Hill, Yolanda (Phil) Hill, Shelia (Greg) Smith and Geraldine Hill; sons, all of Tampa, Roosevelt Hill, Shawn Frazier, George Hill, Darrell Hill and Pastor Gre- gory (Kimberlee) Hill; sis- ters, Sharon (Rodney) Peterson of Tampa, and Ruby Walker and Hazel (William) Davis, both of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Edward Graddy and Alfonso Lee of Tampa, Clifford Lee of Chicago, IL, and Willie (Sandra) Graddy of Charlotte, NC; aunts, Queen Burnett and Louise Major of Cuthbert, GA, and Mary Bussey of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law, Clinton Hill of Mobile, AL; sister-in-law, Joann Hill of Silas, AL; and a host of grandchildren, great grand and great great grand- children; a surrounding area of nieces and nephews; god- daughters, Andrea Mutcher-
SISTER DAISY BELL JOHNSON HARRIS THORPE
Sister Daisy Bell Johnson Harris Thorpe of Tampa, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 4, at 11 a. m. at Mt. Tabor Mis- sionary Baptist Church, 2606 West Grace Street, with Pas- tor T. D. Leonard, pastor, of- ficiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa, FL.
Sister Daisy Bell Johnson Harris Thorpe was born to Brother Cissero Wood and Sister Lizzie Bell Johnson on September 25, 1924 in Eu- faula, Alabama.
She was educated by life and attended the Schools of Barbour County, Alabama and Randolph County, Geor- gia.
Sister Daisy Thorpe had no siblings.
Sister Thorpe, affection- ately known as Mrs. Daisy, met and married Mr. Jim Harris in Cuthbert, Ran- dolph County, GA, in 1940. To that union, 6 children were born. She later moved to Havana, FL, where she gave birth to 5 more children.
She then moved to Tampa, in 1968. There she met and married Brother Lafelt Thorpe.
Mrs. Daisy accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful servant at Mt. Tabor M. B. Church until God called her home.
Sister Thorpe loved the Lord and faithfully served on Usher’s Ministry Number One for a number of years,
