AIKENS
Pastor Of New Salem P. B. Church Dies
Pastor Theodis Lane Sr., was born to the late Morris Lane Sr., and Margaret Scott Lane on April 30, 1955 in Valdosta, GA. He grew up in Naylor, GA and attended schools in Lowndes County. He gradu- ated from Lowndes County High School in 1973 and married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Miller in 1974.
In 1993, through divine orchestration God order Pastor Lane’s steps to the City of Tampa, FL where he was elected as Senior Pastor of the Greater New Salem Primitive Baptist Church. It was during this season where his ministry began to flourish mightily. With the help of the Lord and the New Salem congregation, he initi- ated several ministries can- vassing the Tampa Park community and neighboring areas doing street evangel- ism. Within his first 7 years the congregation more than tripled in membership.
He was recognized throughout the whole city by billboards on every major in- tersection, with the motto “Soul Winning Is Every- body’s Business.”
God blessed him to reach thousands outside his con- gregation for many years as a voice of hope on the 1150 AM radio station every Sun- day morning at eight o’clock and ten-thirty A.M. is, hold- ing the number one ratings in his time slot.
He started the Daughters of Sarah, a one-hundred voice women’s choir for the Greater New Salem PBC and was known to have one of the best musical staffs in the city. He was very active in the South Florida Primitive Bap- tist Association, serving as Union #2 president for sev- eral terms, often giving lec- tures to the general body.
He served as a strong cat- alyst for the former city councilman and current mayor, Bob Buckhorn, al- lowing him to share his spir- itual and political views for

the city. God continued to bless him to be the spiritual father of many sons who are currently doing strong gospel centered ministry in their local cities. Out of the many things God allowed him to accomplish in life, nothing brought him greater joy and happiness than to be a loving husband and a de- voted father.
His generous heart was beyond the explanation of words, but deeply engraved into the hearts of everyone he blessed. He truly was a servant fulfilling the com- mand of Matthew 25:40, “And the king shall an- swer and say unto them, verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
He will be revered as a 2preacher, respected as a man, remembered as a fa- ther and cherished as a hus- band of one wife for 42 years.
