Sheriff Promotes 12 Employees To New Positions

Recently, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chro- nister promoted 12 employ- ees to higher positions. Those promoted will begin their new assignments on November 14, 2022.
Sheriff Chronister said, “Those promoted are men and women who have served the community diligently, faithfully, and tirelessly for years. They’ve shown exem-
plary leadership amongst their peers and are well de- serving of their promotions.
“I have full confidence that they will continue to make the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office one of the best and most respected agencies in the country.”
Joining the rank of Colonel is Anthony Collins, who will head the Department of Operational Support, and Frank Losat, who will head the Department of Exec- utive Support.
Major Anthony Collins was promoted to the rank of Colonel.
In 2004, Colonel An- thony Collins began his ca- reer as a Deputy Sheriff with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, while he was simultaneously enlisted in the Army National Guard.
Colonel Collins started his career in patrol, but has since then, held various deputy and detective assign- ments. Colonel Collins also served on the S.W.A.T. team for nine years.
He was promoted to a su- pervisory role in 2014, and since then, has overseen pa- trol deputies and detectives assigned to the Juvenile Serv- ices Section, General Offense and District Intelligence Unit. Colonel Collins is currently assigned to District V Patrol Operations as the District Commander.

Collins is a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy’s 280th Session and the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management for Police Institute 75th Ses- sion.
Colonel Collins has earned many commenda- tions. His civic associations include board membership positions at the Pace Center for Girls, ACTS Florida, Der- rick Brooks Charities Youth Pro-grams, and the Hillsbor- ough County School Board’s – Achievement Schools Com- munity and Family Relations.
A native of Tampa, Florida, Major Collins is married and has two children.
Colonel Frank Losat
began his career in law en- forcement in 1990, serving as a state trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol be- fore joining the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in 1994.
He has been assigned to various positions with HCSO's Street Crimes and
narcotics units. He also served as a field training su- pervisor within the Criminal Investigations Division. Most recently, Colonel Losat served in the Homicide Sec- tion for almost 11 years.
Colonel Losat served in multiple supervisory roles.
Colonel Losat has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminol- ogy from Saint Leo Univer- sity, and attended the Florida Department of Law Enforce- ment's Senior Leadership Program and the Executive Institute for Police Manage- ment.
He also serves on the exec- utive board of Tampa's Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coor- dinating Office (DACCO). A California native and resident of Hillsborough County since 1983, he is married with two grown sons.

Nicole Heppenstall; Lt. Cason Ulmer; Sgt. Aaron Dahl; Sgt. Jessica Hallberg-Calebro; and Corporal Jeramy Butler.
