Police Seek Help From Community To Solve Murders

Last year, the Tampa Police Department had launched in- vestigations into 19 violent deaths during the first four months of the year. This year, the death rate has been re- duced, with the department investigating 14 this year.

tions. Police are asking mem- bers of the community for their assistance in solving these crimes as well.
The first case in which po- lice need assistance is a dou- ble homicide that took place at Club Rayne, 8123 N. Ne- braska Avenue.
In that case, an unidentified suspect or suspects fired sev- eral shots inside the club on the night of February 6th. Marvin Douglass Lan-

caster, III, 21, and 20-year- old Christopher Houston were both killed.
On March 1st, police re- sponded to the 2700 block of Oakdale Avenue in reference to a man in a vehicle. Officers discovered that 27-year-old Jarmaal Rumlin had been shot and died as a result of those injuries.
Jamil Marquis Collier, 22, died on March 7th after being shot. The shooting took

place at the Gardens At South- bay Apartments, 6720 S. Lois Avenue.
On April 9, police re- sponded to the intersection of N. 49th Street and E. 10th Av- enue in reference to a body. Upon arrival, the investigat- ing officers discovered the body of Pablo Bautista, 49, of Tampa. His body was dis- covered inside his red Honda Civic.

was discovered dead inside of his residence at 3805 E. Curtis Street. Police have not re- leased any information about how Simmons died. How- ever, his car was missing from his residence.
A spokesperson for the Tampa Police Department is asking anyone with any infor- mation about these murders to contact the Homicide Bu- reau or Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay.
