Where Will The Obamas Live After Leaving The White House
Flint Mayor Meets With President

Sarah Palin was in Iowa endorsing Donald Trump, while back at home in Alaska her oldest son was arrested for domestic vio- lence.
In one year, President Barack Obama will leave 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. So what will life be like for Amer- ica's first Black president after two terms at the White House?
Former presidents rarely re- main in Washington after liv- ing and working in the U. S. capital's oldest public building.
Jimmy Carter headed home to Georgia, and Ronald Reagan went back to Califor- nia.
No one yet knows where the Obamas will head on January 20, 2017, when the next presi- dent is sworn in on Capitol Hill.
Every time someone close to them shows interest in a lavish property in Palm Springs or Honolulu, the press speculates about a veiled investment for the First Couple. But so far, no dice. Nothing concrete has emerged.
The Obamas are attached to Chicago -- the President launched his political career there as a community organ- izer and celebrated his land- mark 2008 election win. President Obama's presi- dential library and foundation
will also be based in the Windy City.
"All the strands of my life came together and I really be- came a man when I moved to Chicago," the President said last year when he made the an- nouncement about the library site.
"That's where I met my wife. That's where my children were born," he explained.
But so far, there is no clear sign that Chicago is the fam- ily's next destination.
The only hint given by the U.S. president? He has said that family will be his priority.
"They -- and Michelle -- have made a lot of sacrifices on behalf of my cockamamie ideas, the running for office and things," President Obama told ABC in 2013, re- ferring to his daughters.
In early 2017, Malia -- the Obamas' older daughter -- will be at university. Sasha, now at the private Sidwell Friends school in Washington, will have more than half of her high school studies ahead of her.
Perhaps the Big Apple?
Ben Carson Campaign Volunteer Killed In Car Crash In Iowa
A campaign volunteer for GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson was killed in a crash on an icy road in Iowa on Tuesday after the van he was riding in with other campaign workers collided with another vehicle.
Braden Joplin, 25, of Mid- land, Texas, died after the ac- cident near Atlantic, Iowa, a small city between Des Moines, Iowa and Omaha, Ne- braska.
Carson, who was in South Carolina at the time, cancelled his remaining campaign events and travelled to the Ne- braska Medical Center in Omaha, where Joplin was

MAYOR KAREN WEAVER
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Flint Mayor Karen Weaver said she had a productive meeting with President Barack Obama as the two discussed the city's ongoing water crisis.
Weaver said she met with the President Tuesday, Jan. 19, for more than 20 minutes while she was in Washington, D.C., for the United States Conference of Mayors.
"I thought the talk went well," Mayor Weaver said.
Weaver said the President was updated on the details of the city's water issues and assured that his administration would continue to assist the city.
"He said they are going to do everything they can to get us everything we deserve," Weaver said.
However, Weaver said the President told her the state needed to step-up and assist the city.
During his State of the State address Tuesday night, Gov. Rick Snyder outlined a $28 million plan to address the city's water problems.
Flint, the birthplace of General Motors that once employed 80,000 autoworkers, but which now faces widespread poverty after auto jobs largely left the city, has been reeling from the discovery that its water contains dangerously high levels of lead.
President Obama, visited Detroit on Wednesday, was not expected to visit Flint while he's in Michigan.
Also on Tuesday:
President Obama issued the
ninth veto of his presidency, re- jecting a congressional resolu- tion that would have overturned federal regulations on clean water.
The Waters of the United States rule, adopted by the Obama administration in 2014, expands the definition of waters subject to the jurisdiction of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under the Clean
Congressional Republicans tried to use a rarely invoked law known as the Congressional Re- view Act to overturn the regula- tion. But they're far short of the two-thirds vote necessary in each chamber to overturn the veto.
While Sarah Palin Was Endorsing Trump, Her Son Was Being Arrested
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The oldest son of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was arrested in a domestic vio- lence case in which his girl- friend was afraid he would shoot himself with an AR-15 assault rifle, according to court documents filed Tuesday.
Track Palin, 26, is charged with assault, interfering with the report of a domestic vio- lence crime and possessing a weapon while intoxicated in connection with the incident Monday night at the Wasilla
home of his parents, where he lives, according to an affidavit by police.
The girlfriend told authori- ties she was punched in the face by Palin, who is the old- est child of Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presi- dential nominee and conserva- tive leader.
The charges were filed Tuesday, the same day Sarah Palin endorsed Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump before vot- ing begins with the Iowa cau- cuses.
