Bucs Claim Former

JALEN RAMSEY AND DANTE FOWLER
The Jacksonville Jaguars are sending a message to some of their players.
The Jaguars on Sunday suspended both Jalen Ram- sey and Dante Fowler for a week.
Fowler fought with a teammate at practice on Sun- day, leading to his suspen- sion. The suspension was for fighting and a violation of team rules.
Fowler was repeatedly fighting with teammate Yan- nick Ngakoue at practice.
Ramsey’s suspension was for going after a team re- porter on Twitter. Ramsey was upset with the media for reporting about the fights that took place at practice, as well as other coverage about him he felt was negative.

De'Vante Harris may not have to wait long for a chance to play against his former team.
A day after the New Or- leans Saints waived Harris, the division rival Buccaneers claimed the third-year defen- sive back. The Saints play the Buccaneers in Week 1.
Harris spent his first two seasons with the Saints, breaking up three passes in 20 career games. He was waived after committing two

Seattle Seahawks rookie Shaquem Griffin is going to attract a lot of attention no matter what he does this pre- season, but his quarterback is singling him out for praise.
Russell Wilson show- ered Griffin with praise after his preseason debut, calling him a “great” player and praising his ability to make plays despite his phys- ical handicap.
Griffin allegedly fell to the fifth round of the draft after his 40 time was shown to be inaccurate. That looks

like it might be Seattle’s gain, as his nine tackles were a team-high. Yes, it’s presea- son, but Griffin looked like he has the potential to be an impact player.

Members of the University of Maryland athletic staff have been placed on leave in con- nection with the death investi- gation of a football player, according to the school.
A university spokesperson said following the death of Jordan McNair in June, the school called for an external review of the procedures and protocols surrounding ath- letes’ health and safety.
Pending the outcome of the review, the university an- nounced it had placed mem- bers of the athletic staff on administrative leave, but did not identify the members.

NFL Players Protest During Anthem, Drawing Rebuke From President Trump
While the NFL continues discussions with the players' union regarding a national anthem policy, players who demonstrate are emphasizing they are protesting social in- justice, racial inequality and systematic oppression.
They are not against the country, military, flag or "The Star-Spangled Banner" it- self.
President Donald Trump wants players to "find another way to protest" and contended "most of them are unable to define" what they're demonstrating against.
Players, however, have made clear their position nu- merous times.
"I think part of the prob- lem is that when you con- tinue the rhetoric that this is controversial or this is some- how a negative thing, people
ing about, and we can actu- ally make some movement."
Jenkins stopped his demonstration last season after the NFL committed $90 million over the next seven years to social justice causes in a three-segment plan that involves league players.
Jenkins and a few team- mates wore a T-shirt before the game that read on the front: "More than 60 percent of prison populations are people of color." On the back, it said: "Nearly 5,000 kids are in adult prisons and jails. #SchoolsNotPrisons."
The league and the NFLPA have yet to announce a policy for this season re- garding demonstrations dur- ing the anthem after the league initially ordered every- one to stand on the sideline when the anthem is played, or remain in the locker room.

Los Angeles Lakers fans fondly remember Lamar Odom, the versatile forward who had a large role in the team’s back-to-back champi- onships in 2009 and 2010. Since those days, however, his personal and professional life went on a slide downward.🔥
After being traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011, Odom struggled to find his footing in the league while struggles in his personal life mounted. He ultimately landed in a coma in 2015 and suffered several strokes after drug abuse.
Now, at 38-years-old, Odom is preparing to make
