Shootings Were
Tampa Police were called to the Robles Park Complex at 5:30 a. m. Wednesday morn- ing on a report of shots being fired.
When officers arrived, they reported that a group of peo- ple were hanging out in the area of Stratford Avenue and Avon drinking when a known suspected pulled up in a car
and asked about an ongoing feud.
Shots were fired from the vehicle, and one person was hit in the arm. She was hospi- talized with non-life threaten- ing injuries.
The young lady was the fourth victim of a shooting in the public housing complex since Sunday.
Result Of Gunplay
The trial has started for a man accused of killing a tod- dler in 2011.
Authorities reported that
Demarcus Kirkland- Williams confessed to beat- ing the boy. He allegedly said he has no idea what happened to his girlfriend’s 1-year-old son, Ezekiel, but the infant suddenly stopped breathing while Kirkland-Williams was watching him.
Prosecutors are alleging Kirkland-Williams admit- ted to police after the fact that he threw the toddler against a dresser and then banged his back when the child wouldn’t stop crying.
According to a report, this was not the first time Kirk- land-Williams had been in trouble for allegedly abusing his girlfriend’s child. A report
Sgt. Rick Mills is shown carrying the dog injured dog.
Tampa Police had earlier reported that the shootings of 18-year-old Kakell Ray- mond O’Neal and 15-year- old Torrionia A. Young last Sunday were the result of a neighborhood dispute.
The impending investiga- tion has revealed that the shooting was the result of O’Neal and Young playing with a gun. They told police a friend came running toward them with a gun, and O’Neal slapped it out of the friend’s hand, causing it to discharge. The bullet went into O’Neal, exited, and hit Young.
The State Attorney’s Office is reviewing the incident to see if any charges will be filed.

Detectives with the Tampa Police Department have ar- rested four people in connec- tion with an injured dog. Two teenagers are accused of shooting a dog and then stak- ing her to the railroad tracks in Sulphur Springs. A third teenager and a young adult have also been charged in connection with the case.
Police identified Natwan Callaway and Bobby Hollinger, both 17, and ar- rested them on Wednesday. Thursday morning, Darnell Devlin, 18, and 21-year-old Kenny Bell were also ar- rested. Devlin and Bell were charged with 2 counts each of baiting, breeding, owning, or possession of an animal for fighting.
Callaway was charged with aggravated animal cru- elty, armed trespassing (CSX Property) and possession of a firearm. Hollinger was charged with aggravated ani- mal cruelty and trespassing (CSX Property).
Police said detectives as- signed to the case discovered the dog, named “Cabella,” had been purchased for fight- ing. When she wouldn’t fight, the suspects decided to get rid of her.
According to police, Hollinger is alleged to have thrown the dog into a wooded area, then he shot her. How- ever, the injured dog returned home and sat on the front porch. The suspects are said to have taken the dog to the railroad tracks and tied her down. Then Callaway al- legedly to have shot her sev- eral more times.
A tip led detectives to the suspects in the case. The de- tectives also obtained a video that showed the suspects walking the dog to the rail- road tracks and running away several minutes later. An offi- cer who works the Sulphur Springs area recognized one of the people in the video and made contact with that per-
son. That individual is said to have identified the teenagers. Police said the suspects admitted committing the of- fense during interviews. They were arrested and trans- ported to the Juvenile Assess-
ment Center.
As the investigation con-
tinued, Tampa Police officers and employees of the Hills- borough County animal Serv- ices executed a th search warrant at 8516 N. 16 Street, where Cabella lived before the shooting.
Detectives found two other dogs that had injuries consistent with dog fighting. Detectives also discovered ev- idence of dog fighting in the back yard.
Bell and Devlin report- edly admitted to being the owners of Cabella, police said. Both men were arrested and are being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail. Bell was also charged with violation of pro- bation in an unrelated case.
The circumstances that led police to the injured dog began last Wednesday when police responded to the Sul- phur Springs area in refer- ence to shots being fired. When police arrived, they found an injured dog that had been shot and tied to the rail- road tracks.
The female mixed breed dog was found approximately 100 feet north of Eskimo Drive. She is one to two- years-old and had shot once in the neck and above the right shoulder. She also had an injured right leg. She was transported to the Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Center at Florida and Bearss, where the dog was treated.
The veterinarian initially believed her right front leg would require amputation. But, they were able to save the dog’s leg. The dog is ex- pected to be available for adoption after she recovers in about 6 weeks.

The 17-year-old alleged victim and her infant were not at the res- idence.
Okeechobee County offi- cials asked local deputies to have the victim’s mother re- spond to a hospital in their county to a hospital in their county where her daughter was. The victim and her infant had been taken by Mc- Gruder to Okeechobee County against her will.
