The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 20- year-old man in connection with the murder of a teenager. The shooting took place last Thursday in the parking lot of 7518 Camarina Calle.
According to police, 17- year-old Tamichael Broad- nax became involved in a verbal altercation with Rey- naldo Charles Hernandez over a woman shortly before midnight. The argument then turned violent, police said.
Hernandez is alleged to have shot Broadnax and fled the scene.
Broadnax was trans- ported to St. Joseph’s Hospi- tal, where he died early Friday.
A Tampa native, Broad- nax attended the public schools of Hillsborough County. He last attended Town N’ Country Charter School, where he was a mem- ber of the ROTC. His mother said he planned to enter the military.
At the time of his death, he was employed at the Taco Bell on North Dale Mabry High- way.

Broadnax was the oldest son of Ms. Treneshia Ming. He has an older sister and a younger brother.
His sister, Chamekqua, said her brother “loved foot- ball and making rap songs. He just liked to make people laugh.”
Funeral services for Tamichael Broadnax were incomplete at press time. Ray Williams Funeral Home is in charge of handling arrange- ments.

... Charged with second- degree murder
Friday. He was charged with second-degree murder with a firearm, aggravated assault, and discharging a firearm from a vehicle. His bond was set at $209,500.00.
A 59-year-old daycare owner was arrested Friday and charged with child abuse. The daycare has been sus- pended by the Child Care Li- censing Board pending an investigation.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place on or about October 3rd, at the Itsy Bitsy Kids World Daycare, 1545 Oak Street, in Largo. The business is owned by Ms. Colleen Williams Days, of Largo.
Detectives were contacted by the mother of a 2-year-old, who reported that her son had three large red marks on his thighs. The mother told police she had picked him up from daycare at the facility and noticed the red marks after she arrived at home.
When she contacted the daycare, she was reportedly told the child had fallen.
The mother sought med- ical attention and medical personnel told detectives the child had two large bruises on his right thigh and three large bruises on his left thigh, and the injuries were consistent

with child abuse.
During the course of the
investigation, detectives were reportedly told that Ms. Days often strikes the chil- dren with her hand or a shoe for punishment.
Detectives interviewed Ms. Days on Friday at the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Of- fice and she admitted that she had struck the child several times with his own shoes, causing injuries to both legs because he wouldn’t put his shoes on when told, police said.
She was arrested and charged with 1 count of child abuse.

  Teen Charged With First Degree Murder Of Bicyclist

a mobile
home is
being sought
by police.
The shooting
resulted in
an occupant
of the home being struck by the gunfire.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took place at 3704 Quail Oaks Drive, shortly after 8:30 Tuesday morning.
Martin Estrada, 53, was inside the mobile home at the time and was hit by the gunfire. He was transported to Lakeland Regional Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condi- tion.
After the shooting, the His- panic suspect fled the scene in a silver, 4-door sedan, witnesses told police.
Information gathered dur- ing the investigation into the shooting led detectives to 19- year-old Derrick Lee Leon. Police have issued a warrant for his arrest. He will be charged with aggravated battery, 2 counts of aggravated assault, and shooting into an occupied dwelling. The investigation is continuing.

A teenager was arrested last Thursday and charged with first-degree murder. He is ac- cused of shooting a 44-year-old homeless man last Monday evening.
According to the Pinellas Park Police Department, 16- year-old Jason Allen Olivo- Smith made contact with John Chesterfield Asch at a convenience store at the corner of 66th Street and 62nd Avenue.
Olivo-Smith reportedly gave Asch some money for what police believe was for buying beer for the teenager.
Instead of buying the beer, Asch rode off with the money on his bicycle, heading west- bound on 62nd Avenue. Olivo-

Smith is alleged to have chased Asch down and shot him in the head with a hand- gun.
Asch was transported to Bayfront Health Hospital after he crashed the bicycle in the 6600 block of 62nd Avenue, North, around 7 p.m. When Asch arrived at the hospital, medical personnel discovered he had been shot and con- tacted police.
Asch was admitted to the hospital in critical condition and died on Wednesday.
During the investigation, detectives developed Olivio- Smith as a suspect in the shooting. He was taken into custody Thursday afternoon.
