Man Jailed For Beating Elderly Driver After Crash

The homegoing celebration for Mr. Renay Arnez McLen- don, of Tampa, will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017, 6 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Dorothy Ferguson, pastor of Hands of God Ministries, officiating.
Renay McLendon was wel- comed into the world on Satur- day, December 3rd, 1955, then called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Octo- ber 26th, 2017.
He was the first child of Ru- pert GW McLendon, Jr., and the late, beautiful Shirley Shaw McLendon. Renay was as clever and intelligent as he was good- humored and kind, always searching for ways to put the needs of others ahead of his own. His tech savvy and musi- cal talents (guitar, keyboard, drums, etc.) were unmatched as was his kindness. An amaz- ing storyteller, his life’s story will now be shared.
Forever joined with his lov- ing mother and cherished daughter, Yhavina, Renay leaves behind his loving wife, Jeffery Ann McLendon; his re- markable daughter, Yelynda Perez; son-in-law, Victor Perez and grandson, Jeremiah; his devoted daughter, Rheah McLendon; extraordinary son, Jehonathan McLendon; his as- tonishing daughter, Renee Gilliland; son-in-law, Dustyn Gilliland, and grandson, Liam; his deeply loved sister, Sheryll McLendon-Pleas and brother, Rupert GW McLendon, III, and their dear father, his nephew, Xavier and sweet nieces, Sadé and Mya.
Additionally, Renay leaves behind his wonderful and en- deared aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Renay, the words to express our love for you and gratitude for all you have brought to our lives do not exist. You are in- credible.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2nd, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The fam- ily and friends are asked to meet at the chapel for the serv- ices following the visitation.
MRS. MARY ROSITA McNAB
Mrs. Mary Rosita McNab, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 2 at 11 a.m. at Carrollwood Sev- enth Day Adventist Church, 10619 Henderson Road, with Pastor James Johnson, officiat- ing. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Mrs. Mary Rosita McNab was a native of Aruba Antilles, West Indies and a resident of Tampa for 39 years.
She attended St. Phelome- nia High School and graduated from St. James Hose with an BSN degree in Nursing in 1963.
In 1964 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Daniel L. McNab. Mrs. McNab enjoyed her career as a Registered Nurse and she worked in Eng- land, Canada and the USA and later was employed at the FL PRO.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Dr. Daniel L. McNab; and children, son, Daniel Romain McNab and wife, Marie; daughters, Mrs. Nicole Benjamin and husband, Clarence, and Mrs. Marie Dou- glas and husband, Kudura; grandchildren, Brandon McNab, Jasmine McNab, Chris- tian McNab, DeVonte’ Ben- jamin, Domenique Benjamin, Andrew Douglas, Jayden Dou- glas, and Christopher “Peanut” Douglas; brother, Roy Peters, of Haastrecht, Holland; sisters, Jeanette Conor, Grethel Pierre and Camilla Peters; nephews, Terence A. Conor, Clifford Pierre (Casedra), and Conrad Harrigan; nieces, Surienne Conor, Linette Harrigan, and Corinne Harrigan; great nieces and nephews, Keiajah Harri- gan, Maleijah Harrigan, Calei- jah Harrigan, Aaliyah Pierre, Ethan Pierre, Darius Pierre, Ka- mari Pierre and Isaiah Pierre; godchildren, Joseph Dublin and Thea King; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
The remains will repose one hour prior to services (10 a.m.) at Carrollwood SDA Church. Arrangements entrusted to RAY WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, Rhodes & Northern, Owners.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged with beating a 90-year-old veteran last week.
According to the Winter Haven Police Department, the unidentified victim was back- ing out of a parking space in the Publix parking lot Wednesday evening. The vic- tim said he looked and it ap- peared to be clear. However, as he was backing out, he col- lided with a black vehicle coming from the wrong direc- tion. Both cars received minor damage, police said.
The victim got out of his car, and both people in the other car began cursing and yelling at him. An argument took place and bystanders

watched as one of the occu- pants struck the elderly man, causing him to fall on the pavement and strike his head.
Both men attempted to
leave the scene when a wit- ness attempted to stop them. The witness was dragged for a short distance before falling to the ground. The witness was not injured.
The victim was taken to Winter Haven Hospital, where he was admitted for a severe cut to his head and large facial scrapes, along with his arms and hands being bruised. The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.
Police identified Gregory Leonard Krizsan as the person who struck the elderly veteran. He was arrested on Friday and charged with ag- gravated battery on a person over the age of 65.
