    Walking To Support ‘Stop The Violence’
 In an effort to draw attention to the number of African Americans who are dying from violent crimes, a group of citizens organized a community walk. Residents were joined by community leaders, State Representative Dianne Hart, Mayor Jane Castor, Councilman Orlando Gudes, County Commissioner Gwen Myers,
and several police officers.
Those who participated walked from C. Blythe Andrews, Jr. Branch Library to

    Mayor Jane Castor, County Commissioner Gwen Myers and City Councilman Orlando Gudes joined the residents.
Cherylene Levy and Anthony Johnson were among the participants.
  Among those who participated in the walk were: Bishop Michelle B. Patty, Jaquarius Fagan, Mary Benson, Katrice Benson and Jalen Patty.
  Gospel promoters, Kathy Henry and Mary Blake were among the participants.
  State Representative Dianne Hart and one of the partici- pants displaying signs.
  Mayor Jane Castor, CDC of Tampa’s CEO, Ernest Coney and police officers at the event.
  Community activist Bennie Small was also among the participants.
  Zach and Twanda Sureller joined the walkers.
