Tiger Woods Doesn’t Remember Being In California Car Crash, Sheriff Says
Dwyane Wade Talks About
Tiger Woods has no memory of the accident that left him with a shattered right leg — and appeared to be unaware of how badly in- jured he was when the first deputy arrived at the scene, according to reports.
“At the hospital he was asked about it by the investi- gators and he had no recol- lection of the crash itself,” LA County Sheriff Alex Vil- lanueva told CNN.
Sheriff’s Deputy Carlos Gonzalez, who arrived first at the scene, told NBC’s
hurt.
“I don’t think he was
aware of how gravely he was injured at the time. It could be a mixture of adrenaline, it could’ve been shock,” Gon- zalez said.
“Again it was very quick, the moment that I arrived from the moment that he rolled over, so I don’t know if he had time to fully assess his injuries,” added Gonza- lez, who arrived six minutes after a 911 call was made.
The deputy said he did not see any signs of impair- ment at the site.
A deputy on scene at the crash says Tiger Woods wasn't aware of serious his injuries were.
“At the scene, we’re look- ing for evidence of intoxica- tion like if there’s an odor of an alcoholic beverage or there’s an open container or prescription medication,” he said.
“At this time we didn’t see any evidence of impair- ment and anything beyond that in terms of the medical toxicology, I wouldn’t be aware at this time,” Gonza- lez added.
He said the 45-year-old golf icon remained calm as he asked him assessment questions before determin- ing that he needed to call the fire department to help ex- tricate him.
“I’ve seen collisions that didn’t look as serious where the occupants were injured much more severely,” he said. “I think that’s just a tes- tament to the fact that he was wearing a seatbelt, airbags worked as intended and modern vehicles are much more safe than they ever used to be.”
Gonzalez was wearing his body camera while inter- acting with Woods and the footage should be available in the near future, according to USA Today.
Villanueva reiterated that there was no indication of criminal wrongdoing as he announced that no charges are being considered in the accident. Woods faces a long road to recovery that in- cludes extensive physical therapy and additional oper- ations on his shattered leg.

"Just like everybody out there, my thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones because we all were shaken and shook at that mo- ment, not knowing what hap- pened with Tiger," Wade added.
"Just my prayers go out to him and hopefully a speedy recovery for him and hope- fully he gets a chance to get back to doing what he loves to do and that's playing the game of golf and I'm just thankful that he took the time to be able to teach me a few things about the game yesterday."

Phoenix Suns' Devin Booker
Replaces Injured Los
Angeles Laker Anthony Davis
In NBA All-Star Game
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker was selected Wednesday to replace injured Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis in the NBA All-Star Game.
Commissioner Adam Sil- ver chose Booker to take Davis' spot a day after Booker was snubbed by the league's head coaches for a reserve spot in the March 7 game in Atlanta.
Booker received a big ovation from the home crowd Wednesday night when the sixth-year guard was an- nounced as a two-time All- Star during the starting lineup introductions. Coach Monty Williams said pregame that the honor was

well deserved.
After Booker was
snubbed Tuesday night, there was a chorus of disbelief from some of the league's top play- ers, including LeBron James.
Booker said he tried not to get frustrated by the initial snub and looks forward to an- other All-Star experience.
