Victor Oladipo Turned Down 2-Year, $45.2M Extension From Houston Rockets
VICTOR OLADIPO
Houston Rockets guard Victor Oladipo recently turned down a two-year, $45.2 million maximum contract ex- tension, the most the franchise could offer him before the end of the regular season.
As expected, Oladipo is pursuing a longer-term deal, sources said, something that the collective bargaining agree- ment doesn't allow the Rockets to offer him until the offseason.
Oladipo is in the final year of a four-year, $85 million con- tract, which leaves the Rockets with decisions to make prior to the March 25 trade deadline -- including whether they'll make him available in trade talks.

NFL teams are allowed to start talking to free agents on March 15 and there’s some word about who the Browns might be calling once the legal tampering window is open.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers star linebacker Lavonte David is on the team’s radar as an upgrade to their defense. David had 117 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception, three forced fumbles, and two fum- ble recoveries for the Bucs during the 2020 season.
David has spent his entire nine-year career in Tampa and will likely have many suitors if he hits the open market. Bucs head coach Bruce Arians and General Manager Jason Licht have expressed a desire

to keep that from happening, but the Bucs have several key free agents so that may not be possible.
B.J. Goodson and Mal- colm Smith played the most snaps at linebacker for the Browns last season. Both are set to be free agents and that likely means a different look at linebacker even if David doesn’t make his way to Cleve- land.
Tiger Woods is thanking his fellow golfers for showing him love as he recovers from a scary car accident last week.
On Sunday, Rory Mcll- roy, Justin Thomas and several other players wore Woods' signature red shirt and black pants during the final round of the WGC- Workday Championship in Bradenton, Florida.
"It is hard to explain how touching today was when I turned on the tv and saw all the red shirts," Woods, 45,

Mike Tyson Calls For
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin made a rare offseason media appear- ance last week on HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel." The winningest Black head coach in NFL history criticized the league's hiring practices and lack of diversity in coach- ing ranks.
He followed up his com- ments in a more in-depth look at the issue with the Pitts-
burgh Post- Gazette last week. The lack of minority coaches is "un- acceptable," he said, and the fact Kansas

Seahawks' Russell Wilson Hasn't Asked For Trade; Likes
Hulu recently announced a new eight-part series about the life of Mike Tyson titled Iron Mike. The former heavyweight champion is now calling for a boycott of the streaming serv- ice.
On Feb. 26, Tyson, 54, re- leased a statement on Insta- gram, condemning the series, calling it tone deaf, cultural misappropriation. He also noted that Hollywood needs to be more sensitive to Black ex- periences, especially after up- risings against police brutality across the nation in 2020.

   RUSSELL WILSON
Russell Wilson wants to stay in Seattle, but he has some ideas on where he's willing to land if the Seahawks decide to trade their franchise quarter- back.
Wilson is only willing to play for the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders or Chicago Bears if he's traded this offseason. Wilson has a no-trade clause in his contract, so the Seahawks would not be able to move him without his permission.
The relationship between the Seahawks and Wilson has become strained over the quar- terback's frustration with a lack of help on the offensive line and the team's offensive schemes.
"I'm frustrated [about] get- ting hit too much. I'm frus- trated with that part of it. At the end of the day, you want to win," Wilson told reporters last month.
Jimmy Butler Turned Down
 All-Star Spot Because Bam
Adebayo Wasn't Also Invited
So, as it turns out, Jimmy Butler is an All-Star after all.
In the aftermath of Kevin Durant’s hamstring injury, which will sit him through the All-Star Break, the NBA gave the vacant spot to highly-de- serving Indiana Pacer forward Domantas Sabonis, who is averaging 21.6 points, 11.5 re- bounds, and 5.8 assists per game this season.
But according to Ethan J. Skolnick of 5 Reasons Sports, the spot was offered to Jimmy Butler first.
On the network’s 5 On The

Floor Podcast, Skolnick re- ported that Butler was not only invited, but he also turned down the offer because team- mate and All-Star worthy big man Bam Adebayo couldn’t join him.
