An Overlooked Denzel Washington Movie Is Dominating On Streaming
Denzel Washington in ‘The Book of Eli’

       Denzel Washington
knows a thing or two (or ten) about kicking ass. While it hasn’t been a prerequisite for all of his films, it’s been a theme of enough of them. He’s found himself having to free hostages, fight off mafia mem- bers, take down terrorists, and most of the other pieces that come with starring in an ac- tion movie here and there.
Well, now one of his more unique flicks with a heavy ac- tion bent is crushing it on streaming. That’s right, The Book of Eli is currently the third-most watched movie on HBO Max in the United States
this week.
2010’s The Book of Eli is a
post-apocalyptic movie that stars Denzel Washington as the titular character who’s carrying the titular publica- tion. Set 30 or so years after a nuclear has wiped a better part of the human race, the United States has become a barren wasteland run by warlords who own the water and the roads. Washington’s Eli is a traveler, looking to make his way across the plains and we soon learn he has a particular set of skills that have helped him survive this long on his own.
Bobby Shmurda, King Of New York, was released from prison last Monday (February 22nd) after spending more than six years behind bars.
The Brooklyn rapper, whose real name is Ackquille Pol- lard, was released from the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York. A spokesperson for Pollard told Insider that rapper Quavo, of the trio Migos, picked Pollard up from the prison.
Pollard is now with his mother in Long Island, and has his first probation hearing next week, the spokesperson said.
In video shared on Twitter after his release, Pollard can be seen smoking a cigar while chat- ting with a friend on FaceTime. Quavo also shared a video on Twitter, showing Pollard step- ping out of a plane being greeted

by a group of people.
The rapper, known for songs
including "Shmurda Dance" and "Hot N----," was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2016 after pleading guilty to weapons possession and conspiracy
charges tied to a violent drug gang.
Prosecutors said at the time that Pollard had a leading roll in the GS9 gang, an offshoot of the Crips in Brooklyn's East Flat- bush neighborhood, The New York Times reported.
Pollard was arrested in New York in December 2014, and in- vestigators said they found crack cocaine and two handguns in the car he was riding in.
He was released from prison about 10 months early, and was initially told he would be held until December 11, 2021, the maximum expiration of his sen- tence.
A parole committee reviewed his case earlier this year and de- termined he was eligible for con- ditional release for good behavior, the Associated Press reported at the time.
Ice Cube Just Launched His Own Marijuana Line Called 'Fryday Kush'
Today is a good day. Iconic rapper Ice Cube, real name O’Shea Jackson, has officially unveiled his latest project and it’s a doozy. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Ice Cube an- nounced the launch of his very own cannabis line called Fryday Kush, inspired by his signature film Friday.
The new venture comes by way of Caviar Gold, which claims to be the only patented cannabis brand on the market. Together, Cube and Caviar Gold devel- oped the new sticky icky, which is available now in California, Arizona, Nevada and Oklahoma.
“From the man that needs no introduction – these infused cones & high potency buds are
ICE CUBE
the strongest nugs on the mar- ket, personally developed by Ice Cube,” the product description
on Caviar’s website reads. “The unique proprietary process of adding 98% pure liquid THC to marijuana makes the strongest & highest quality flowers on Earth.”
If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Ice Cube over the years, it’s that he isn’t a bitch and his new cannabis line fol- lows suit. The Compton rapper confirmed that the new strain is made with 46.2 per cent THC and 10.78 per cent CBD. With the addition of his new line, Ice Cube joins other rappers Jay-Z and Lil Wayne as cannabis in- dustry investors. As more state move to legalise the drug, we could see Ice Cube become the next great marijuana mogul.
Dr. Dre Congratulates Jay-Z On Massive LVMH Partnership
JAY-Z made headlines this week when it was announced he sold half of his Armand de Brignac champagne brand to Moët Hennessy. The wine and spirits section of the luxury giant LVMH will have 50 percent ownership in Jay’s company.
As expected, the Hip Hop community congratulated Hov throughout the day, leaving messages of support and praise for the 51-year-old rapper. One of the people who applauded
DR. DRE
Hov for the big boss move was none other than fellow Hip Hop mogul Dr. Dre.
The legendary producer took to his Instagram on Monday (February 22) and saluted his peer on the massive accomplish- ment with a picture of himself posing with a bottle of Hov’s Ace of Spades luxury cham- pagne.
“Congratulations Jay Z,” Dre wrote in the caption. “Dope AF!! That’s Black Excellence.”
