Since founding Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, LLC in 2015, chairman and CEO Troy Taylor has overseen sig- nificant investments in the company’s fleet, commercial real estate and manufacturing capabilities.
The company has been be-
hind some notable real estate deals in Tampa Bay, includ- ing the $19.55 million pur- chase of a 400,000-square-foot ware- house in Winter Haven.
On Thursday, June 16, 2022, Taylor is again taking his company to new heights with the groundbreaking of the company’s new 800,000 SF state of the art sales and distribution facility on 156 acres in Tampa. The new fa- cility will have automated ful- fillment capabilities.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 10 A.M. on U.S. Hwy. 301, between Selmon Ex- pressway and Causeway Blvd.
The family-owned com- pany is the 3rd largest pri- vately held bottler and the largest Black-owned business in Florida with revenues up- ward of $1.4 billion. The com- pany has 4,600 associates.
Museum Of Art’s First Annual Juneteenth Cultural Celebration
On Sunday, June 19, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. prepare for a lively commu- nity celebration of this holi- day, also known as Freedom Day, with free museum ad- mission, art-making activi- ties, live music and performances, family por- traits, amazing food trucks, and more.
Advanced registra- tion is required to attend because of space limita- tions.
A special exhibition now being featured at the mu- seum until next month is Verde: Poetics of Shade which features five Black fe- male artists as an introduc- tion and a celebration of their work in a variety of mediums. Artists, Nneka Jones, Kendra Frorup, Princess Smith, Shan- non Elyse, and Jodi Min- nis represent the local community through shared experiences and divergence in visual art. The artwork in Verde speaks to growth and expansion as well as timeless artistic expression. It speaks to feminine energy and artistic contributions.
Casey Curry, the Arts Chair of the Tampa Chapter
of The Links, Inc. will co- fa- cilitate a panel discussion with the five (5) Verde artists and The Arts co-chair, Kendra Frorup, will be the senior artist on the panel.
The event lineup also in- cludes programs by commu- nity partners Moffitt Cancer Center, its George Edgecomb Society, and HORUS Con- struction Services, promot- ing social and health equity for all community members. CAN Community Health will
provide free health screen- ings onsite throughout the day. Visitors will also experi- ence a free sampling of arts and health programs the Tampa Museum of Art pro- vides for families and various special needs groups.
The first annual June- teenth Cultural Celebration is possible thanks to passion- ate community members and partner organizations that support the Black and African American commu- nity in the Tampa Bay area.
