AIKENS
REV. WILLIE L. JACKSON
A Homegoing Celebration for Rev. Willie L. Jackson, of Thonotosassa, Florida, who passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, will be held on Saturday, June 18th, 12:30 p.m., at New Mount Zion M.B. Church, 2511 E. Columbus Drive, Tampa, FL. 33605, Rev. Larry Roundtree III, pastor, of- ficiating. The interment will fol- low Sunset Memory Gardens.
Rev. Jackson was born on February 16, 1944, in Palatka, Florida to Theodore and Bertha Jackson. Some of his achieve- ments included attending the University of Florida, serving in the US Army during the Viet- nam War. He was a Senior Pas- tor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Jackson resided in Thonotosassa with his wife, Marva Jackson, where he married and resided for 39 years.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; aunt, Dollie Mae Brown; uncles, Deacon Johnny Brown and Rev. Abner Jackson “Uncle Snook”; nephew/son, James L. Reed, Jr.; brothers, Horace, Eddie, David, Jimmy, Ulysses, Theodore, Jr., and Ernest Jack- son; and sisters, Juliette Jack- son, Thelma Harper, and Betty Allen.

The visitation will be held at Emmanuel Church of Seffner, Friday, June 17th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service. The repast will imme- diately follow the interment. Face masks are required.

A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Ella M. Martin, of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022, will be held on Saturday, June 18th, 2022, 1:00 p.m., at Aikens Fu- neral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Oliver Simmons, officiating. The inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Ella was born on April 21, 1936 in Tampa, Florida to George Mitchell and Hattie Bell Huff. She enjoyed her career as an educator and administrator in the Hills- borough County Public School System, and she was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, In- corporated.
Ella was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Rudolph B. Martin, Sr.; son, Rudolph B. Mar- tin, Jr.; and brother, Stanley H. Nelson.
She leaves precious memories with: children, Alisia S. Martin (Dwelvin) and Duane E. Martin (Ana); grandchildren, Jade E. Martin, Adela A. Martin, Ilana M. Simmons and Laila R. A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Willie James Patterson, Sr., of Tampa, FL., who passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022, will be held on Saturday, June 18th, 10:30 a.m., at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Wallace Z. Bowers, officiating.
Willie affectionately nick- named “Ray”, was born on De- cember 26, 1946, in Bascom, Florida, to William Patterson, Sr., and Bernice Patterson. Willie at- tended the public schools in Mar- ianna, Florida. He worked 25 years for Pan American Linen.
He cared for his loving mother until her passing on Jan- uary 3rd, 2018. Willie enjoyed the retired life, gardening, and cook- ing big meals. He was known for his famous sweet potato pies and collard greens. Willie was a faith- ful member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, in Marianna, Florida, Rev. Dwight Cockerham, until his health failed on July 21, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Patterson, Sr., and Bernice Patterson; son, Willie J. Patterson, II; sisters, Irene Dickens, and Viola Roberts; and brother, Robert Patterson.
He leaves precious memories with: his devoted children, Wilma Miles, Sherry Walker (Alvin), Willie J. MRS. HELEN WADE
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Helen Wade, of Tampa, FL., who passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, will be held on Sat- urday, June 18th, 11:00 a.m., at Highland Missionary Baptist Church, 3410 E North St, Tampa, FL 33610., Rev. Dr. Julius L. Wynn, Sr., officiating. The inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Helen was born on May 28, 1942, in Blakley, Georgia to Julius Johnson and Emma Ransom. In 1961, Sister Helen Wade gradu- ated from Washington High School, in Blakley, Georgia. After graduation, she relocated to Tampa, Florida, and met the love of her life, Deacon Milton Wade. They were united in holy matri- mony on September 24, 1977, until her death.
She worked at Singleton Shrimp Company as a supervisor until her retirement. She joined Highland Missionary Baptist Church in 1968. She was very ac- tive in her stewardship in min- istry. She was President of several boards, Usher Board, the Dea- coness Board, Bible Training Union, she reviewed many Sun- day school lessons, and sang in the choir when needed. She loved her family and friends. She was wise and sharp to the very end. Sister Helen Wade will be re- membered for her comic wit and sarcastic remarks. The family had to forewarn anybody she came
