 Local Event
Allen Temple To Host 1st Annual Community Fall Festival And Health Fair At Blake High School
On Sunday, October 30, 2022, beginning at 12pm, Allen Temple AME Church, CVS, Aetna Health, and Net- work Eye have teamed up to take the fear out of healthcare. They are doing a fall festival
and health fair.
Those planning the event
say: “This message of health is meant to help strengthen and unify our community. The goal of the Community Fall Festival Health Fair is to focus
on health equity and provide fun and safety for families to gather for Halloween. It is in essence, a party with a pur- pose.” Rev. Dr. Glenn Dames, Jr., Senior Pastor of Allen Temple AME Church, says, “health doesn’t have to be scary; we’re hoping to take the fear and inequity out of healthcare.”
This event will also in- crease minority awareness of
chronic diseases, such as dia- betes, heart disease, stroke, hypertension, and cancer, and how to prevent them. This goal is in line with CVS, Aetna, and network eye’s mission to pro- mote, provide and improve es- sential health services.
There will be food ven- dors, fun, and entertainment. We are especially excited about this year’s celebration because we will welcome the world-renowned Edward Wa- ters University Marching Band (Triple Threat). Also live music from The Beat DOWN Band, and other local artists. Fun for the whole family.
