Brad Holmes Press Box Dedicated At Chamberlain High School
  BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor
The new Press Box at Chamberlain High School was dedicated Friday night (Oct. 14th) to one of its former play- ers, Brad Holmes. A cere- mony was held earlier in the day, where Holmes had an opportunity to speak with the football players.
The Chamberlain High School Legacy Alliance seeks to honor the contributions and the legacy of ‘Chief’ athletes, in this case, Brad Holmes (Class of '97) by naming the new stadium press box in his honor.
Last year, the school re- tired his football jersey (#55). During his senior year at
Chamberlain, he was captain of the football team and Homecoming King. Jake Russell is Principal of Cham- berlain.
Holmes has made signifi- cant contributions to the Chamberlain football program since he left there as a student. Additionally, as the Executive Vice President of the NFL De- troit Lions he has forged the pathway for talented African- Americans to attain this level of achievement and leadership in the National Football League.
He is one of 7 Black Gen- eral Managers in the NFL. Pre- viously, he worked for the Los Angeles Rams, starting as a Public Relations intern in 2003 and working his way up

tired educator and college ad- ministrator, Dr. Joan Holmes (now, Mrs. Her- bert Mosley), and the late Mel Holmes, offensive line-
man with the Pittsburgh Steel- ers. He is also the nephew of the late Luther Bradley (his mother’s brother), the first round pick of the Detroit Lions back in 1978. Therefore, foot- ball has always been a part of his life. He is also the nephew of Broadway star, Everett Bradley (dancer, singer, mu- sician, Tony award nominee).
Holmes did his under- graduate studies at North Car- olina A&T College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Mass Com- munication in 2002. He was a member of the football team and captain of the team. The North Carolina A&T tradition was carried on from his par- ents and sister, all of whom are alums.
