Howard W. Blake Athletic Boosters Club Has New Leadership

these youngsters achieve their goals while they’re in school, and help them to fur- ther their education,” he said.
The Booster Club handles the concession stand for all the games. They’re in the process of preparing for the school’s Open House, where they will distribute informa- tion about the Booster Club.
Former Booster Club President, Frances Cheeks Jennings is working on the 2018 Heritage Football Game between Blake and Middle-
ton. The game will be played on Friday, October 5th, at 7:30 p. m.
Bolton, who once was a supervisor for Borden’s Dairy, went on to become the first Black to own a dairy – Fresh Start Dairy. He sold the business in 1991. Currently, he is the facility manager for the Carver City/Lincoln Gar- dens Community Center.

The Howard W. Blake Athletic Boosters Club re- cently elected a new slate of
officers. The new group will serve for the next 2 years.
Reginald Bolton, a Blake High graduate, 1971, is the new President.
Bolton said his goal is to get more parental participa- tion in the booster club, as well as alumni. The organiza- tion supports all of the
school’s sports. Anyone inter- ested in becoming a part, can join for a small fee.
Bolton, who was not an athlete (“I was more inter- ested in dressing in those days”), said the group is hop- ing to rebuild the organiza- tion to where it was a few years back. “We want to help
