Kyrie Irving Not Considering Contract Extension With Celtics
KYRIE IRVING Kyrie Irving says that he
is not considering a contract extension with the Boston Celtics because it does not make financial sense.
Irving spoke with the media on Tuesday and an- swered several questions, in- cluding some about his contract status. The point guard is set to make just over $20 million next season and has a $21 million player op- tion for the following year. He could opt out of his deal and become a free agent after next season.
For now, Irving says he is not considering a contract ex- tension.
There has been some re- cent chatter that Irving may want to leave Boston after next season, so these com- ments certainly won’t allevi- ate the concerns of Celtics fans.
The team had tremendous success in the postseason without him as he recovered from his knee problems. We know the reason he forced his way out of Cleveland is be- cause he wanted to be the star of his own team. If things don’t work out to his liking in Boston next season, perhaps he will choose to leave.

Stay On Yacht Over
Party In Oakland
Official U.S. Open Hotel
The Warriors threw a street party in Oakland on Tues- day, and throngs of their besties showed up.
Gone were the
usual speeches and politicians, the pomp
and circumstance. In
their place was a straight-up celebra-
tion of Golden State’s third NBA championship in four years. And if anyone was wor- ried that fans were getting jaded, he or she clearly didn’t take a stroll down Broadway

on this particular day. Throngs lined the streets
of the East Bay’s de facto cap- ital, sitting on bus stops, lean- ing out of windows, all screaming and chanting.
Superstar Tiger Woods brought his yacht, Privacy, to a U.S. Open in New York and missed the cut for the first time in a major.
That was 12 years ago when the Open was at Winged Foot.
He can only hope for a different outcome at Shin- necock Hills.
“Staying on the dinghy helps,” Woods said with a grin.
The 155-foot yacht is said to include a Jacuzzi, gym and movie theater. It doesn’t

sound as though Woods has
spent much time ashore ex- cept for being at Shinnecock Hills for his first U.S. Open in three years.
LeBron Teams With HBO To
Produce Documentary On
Billions Racked In By NCAA
In the fall, viewers will have the chance to scrutinize the billion-dollar industry that is the NCAA. According to Shadow And Act, HBO and LeBron James’ production company, SpringHill Enter- tainment, will premiere a new documentary titled Student Athlete on Oct. 2.
The program will focus its lens on the demands placed upon student-athletes from basketball and football’s colle- giate levels: Rutgers Univer- sity’s footballer Shamar Graves, University of Ken- tucky’s men’s basketball team’s Nick Richards, and former Baylor University foot- ball team’s Silas Nacita are a few of the people featured.
LeBron James’ produc- tion company is involved in the new documentary.
According to reports, the NCAA signed a $2.64 billion deal with three television net- works to broadcast its games for the next six years. Student- athletes don’t get paid, but rake in an insane amount of revenue for schools, coaches, and other faculty member.
Draymond Green Will Not Sign
Extension, Seeks Max Contract
After taking a pay cut on his last contract in 2015, Golden State Warriors for- ward Draymond Green will reportedly not do the same on his next contract.
Green signed a five-year, $82 million deal in 2015 after Golden State won its first title in 40 years and his career was beginning to take off. Green left $12 million on the table but the three-time All-Star in- sisted on a pay cut to win.
The 28-year-old is eligible for a three-year, $72 million contract extension that would start in 2020-21, but sources told ESPN that he would turn it down when it is offered.
If Green earns All-NBA

honors or the Defensive Player of the Year award, he will be eligible for the supermax con- tract of five years, $226 mil- lion.
The Michigan State prod- uct has already won three NBA championships and will be looking for more in the up- coming years.
