Suspect Forced Victim To Withdraw Money At ATM
This is a surveillance photo of a man suspected of forcing a victim to withdraw money from an ATM at gunpoint.
On January 7th at 4:25 a.m., Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies reported that a man was sitting in his vehicle at the Starbucks at 3715 Highway 301, South.
Deputies said a man ap- proached the victim on foot, produced a handgun and de- manded money. When the vic- tim told the suspect he had no money, the suspect reportedly escorted the victim to a nearby McDonald’s. The suspect waited while the victim with- drew money from the ATM. After receiving the money, the suspect ran behind a nearby Publix store.
The suspect is described as a Black male, 18-to-21 years old, 5’7” tall, and weighing 130 pounds.

For Home Burglary, Credit Card Fraud Suspects
Tampa Police are asking for help in identifying two women seen on video surveil- lance using a stolen credit card.
On December 16, 2015 at 12:40 p.m., detectives said a woman arrived at her home on West Comanche and dis- covered it had been burglar- ized.
Detectives said the burglar took credit cards, jewelry and electronics. After the burglary, two suspects used the victims’ credit cards, charging over $1,300 at a Walmart on Gunn Highway.

The video shows two Black females, one wearing what ap- pears to be a nursing top, and a second woman who appears to be between 35 and 40 years old, and heavy set.
On Monday, January 11th at 3:30 p.m., Tampa Police were called to the scene of a shooting in East Tampa.
According to police, Mu- tasem Abusafyeh, 38, a store clerk at Hope Food Store, 4002 North 22nd Street, called 9-1-1 to report he was being robbed. Police said the clerk reported that a man armed with a knife came into the store and demanded money. The clerk said he warned the man and the suspect ignored him and continued to come to- ward him.
Abusafyeh shot the sus- pect, later identified as 22- year-old Anthone Bryant.

with what was described as life threatening injuries.
Abusafyeh has cooper- ated with the investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time. The case is still under investigation.
According to police, Bryant’s medical status hasn’t changed and his injuries are still considered life threat- ening.
On Tuesday at 12 p.m., University of South Florida Police detectives arrested Joe Carter, 26, for misdemeanor battery in connection with an incident on January 9th. Carter is a former USF stu- dent, and after the community notification was sent out, housing staff recognized the description as matching Carter and notified police. He was transported to jail for pro- cessing.
On January 9th at 4 p.m., the USF Police Department re- ceived information in regards to a battery that had occurred in a parking lot within the USF Greek Village. An unknown Black male approached a fe- male student while she was unpacking her vehicle, police said.

The suspect allegedly asked where he could buy an um- brella and while she was pro- viding him directions to the USF Bookstore, he reportedly wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her on the cheek. The victim turned and tried to run away and the sus- pect grabbed her again by the waist before letting go and running away. The suspect fled towards the USF Greek pool.

Police Arrest Man In Major Fraud Bust
Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward for in- formation pertaining to a shooting that took place on January 11th, at approxi- mately 1:15 a.m.
According to the Temple Terrace Police Department a man was hospitalized after he was shot. Police received a 9- 1-1 call pertaining to shots being fired in the area of N. Riverhills Drive and E. Fowler Avenue.
The caller told police that the shots were fired at a Chrysler 200 traveling west- bound on Fowler Avenue. When police arrived, they dis- covered that the car had crashed on the north side of Fowler Avenue.
The driver, described as a Hispanic man from California, and is in his mid-30s. He was coherent and said he had been shot by a man on a motorcy- cle.
This is the Chrysler 200 the victim was driving at the time of the shooting.
A spokesman for the Tem- ple Terrace Police Department said they are withholding his identity because the suspect remains at large and is consid- ered armed and dangerous.
The victim told police that the motorcyclist had followed the man for several miles be- fore the shooting took place. After firing the shots, the mo- torcyclist fled eastbound on E. Fowler Avenue, then south on I-75.
The motorcyclist is de- scribed as a white male, in his 40s or 50s. He had a long
beard and gray hair. His face was covered and he was not wearing a helmet. The type of motorcycle he was driving is described as a street racer style, but no additional infor- mation was available at press time.
Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the unknown suspect in this case. After a 15-month investi- gation, St. Petersburg Police arrested a man responsible for a fraud ring involving six area convenience stores and thousands of dollars.
Police said a store man- ager alerted them in October 2014 about suspicious EBT card use. Investigators discov- ered Wail Mari, 55, was pay- ing up to 50 cents on the dollar for EBT cards. He would then use the cards to buy goods at warehouse stores to stock up King Food Mart, 1421 22nd Street, South. He also reportedly sold those goods at a discounted price to five other convenience stores in Tampa, Dunedin, Semi- nole, and St. Petersburg.
Finally, detectives said he cashed out whatever dollars were left over on the cards at a BP Gas Station.

Mari is linked to 430 EBT cards since October 2014. He also reportedly bought EBT cards from undercover offi- cers. Police confiscated $169,000 cash in Monday’s search warrants and warrants for the arrest of the 50 worst EBT sellers has been issued.
Detectives said over the 12 years Mari has been in oper- ation, they estimate a loss of $1.62 million dollars in the fraud.
