SLEW Is A Wellness Brand That Focuses On Peace And Good Vibes

Newly renovated Tampa Park Plaza has become a mecca for hot, new busi- nesses looking to showcase and support quality Black businesses.
The latest business to open up shop at Urban Lux at Tampa Park Plaza is Smudge Life Energy Wellness (SLEW.) SLEW is a multifaceted, culturally curated wellness brand. Although SLEW is inclusive and welcoming, the com- pany prides itself on bring- ing peace and good vibes to Black folk. Owner, Camille Adrienne, refers to SLEW as a “melanated” mindful- ness company.
After Camille Adrienne graduated from Florida A & M University, she spent the next eight years as a respira- tory therapist. She expanded her knowledge by receiving her MA degree in Public Health. Her doctoral stud- ies are in Mind/Body medi- cine.

Camille Adrienne’s partner of two years, Nei- dara Mathies, teaches yoga in the studio with other practitioners. The staff is well-trained in the healing arts.
Retreats, the Smudge Club, Doula services, and a monthly newsletter pro- vide knowledge and kinship for the SLEW community.

The center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and noon to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays. They are closed on Mondays.

“This is my life’s work. I wanted to build a compre- hensive space and offer a va- riety of ways to increase wellness. My goal is to bring good vibes to the world,” states Camille Adrienne.
She began building the SLEW platform five years
ago. She is a Reiki Master, sharing her learnings by teaching others and certifi- cation of Reiki.
