Biden Says The Pandemic Is Over But At Least 400 People Are Dying Daily
Why President Biden Sat So Far Back At Queen Elizabeth II's Funeral
    QUEEN ELIZABETH II
President Biden may be the world’s most powerful man, but it didn’t ensure him a front-row seat at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in London last Monday.
The president and first lady Jill Biden were seated 14 rows back during the service at Westminster Abbey that drew 2,000 guests — including some 500 of the world’s

presidents, kings, princes and prime ministers.
Perhaps taken into considera- tion was that the couple was among the few dignitaries who were granted permission to travel in their own presidential limou- sine, nicknamed “The Beast,” for security reasons.
Most other leaders, including
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, were escorted to the fu- neral on shuttle buses due to tight security and road restrictions in place across London.
Taking their own transportation meant the Bidens also apparently arrived later than scheduled after getting caught in standstill traffic, the Guardian reported.
DeSantis’s Martha’s Vineyard Flights Escalate GOP Immigration Stunts
Dozens of migrants to the U. S., most of them traveling from Venezuela, were transported via private jet from San Antonio, Texas, to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who vowed last Friday to send even more people from states like Florida and Texas to sanctuary cities and states.
Fifty people arrived via two chartered planes in Martha’s Vineyard, a wealthy coastal en- clave, last Wednesday after many reported being lured into the trip with promises of jobs and assis- tance with rent. The migrants were led to believe that they were headed to Boston; instead, they

arrived at the end of the tourist
season in a community, which often hosts the vacationing rich and powerful — including politi- cians and presidents.
California Gov. Gavin New- som (D) has called for a DOJ in- vestigation into DeSantis’s plan, and U. S. Attorney for Massachu- setts Rachael Rollins said in a press conference that her office is seeking the DOJ’s input on the matter. According to Rachel Self, an attorney assisting the newly arrived migrants, a repre- sentative for the Department of Justice is at Joint Base Cape Cod, where the migrants are being sheltered; the DOJ declined to comment on the matter.
WASHINGTON — With 400 to 500 Americans still dying every day of Covid-19, Presi- dent Biden has declared that “the pandemic is over.”
The president made the re- marks while speaking in an in- terview that aired on CBS’s “60 Minutes” on Sunday night. By Monday morning, the backlash was in full swing — as patients said the president was being in- sensitive at best, and some pub- lic health experts said his words were at odds with the science. In the “60 Minutes” interview, which was taped during the De- troit Auto Show last week, Mr. Biden did say that “we still have a problem with Covid.” But he also gave a nod to the unmasked crowds at the show.
“The pandemic is over,” he said. “If you notice, no one’s wearing masks. Everybody seems to be in pretty good shape."
Xavier Becerra, Biden’s health secretary, echoed the sentiment while getting his booster shot at a community health clinic in New York.
“I think the president was reflecting what so many Ameri- cans are feeling and thinking,” Becerra said, “that Covid has disrupted our lives for so long, but we’re also finding that with these effective vaccines, with masking, with the efforts to protect our children, seniors, we are learning how to cope with this virus. But make no mistake. People are still dying.”
