- First, the effect that Gregory’s repetition of the word shame have on me is that I remembered some shame

situations of my life when I was child. Second, I think that Gregory uses simple vocabulary to narrate this particular

experience because he wanted that everyone can understand it or maybe to stand out the feeling that the boy felt.

6. How does society still continue to use negativity to keep people down? Why do people feel the need to point

out those who have less or who are different?

- I think that some people want to feel superior to other and they look for people that have less than them even

though do not look for people that have more than them.

7. Describe a time when you have been made to feel insignificant? How does that experience help you to feel
empathy toward Gregory?

- When, I started working in restaurants I did not know anything in a kitchen so some coworkers showed off
their abilities and I felt insignificant. That situation made me stronger because I focused on improving and learning

more each day. Now, when I meet with someone that is in the same situation that I used to be. I try to teach all I know.
I make the opposite that someone did to me before.

8. In what ways could Dick Gregory be considered an outlier?

- Dick Gregory could be considered an outlier for his different behavior and thinking way.
