when he was not even halfway there he

saw a broad shouldered, slightly taller

man than himself approaching her. He

noticed her looking at him from the

phone that she had been texting on and

when this man got closer she stood up,

took a couple of steps towards him and

gave him a kiss on each cheek and

hugged him tightly.

He shrugged and said to himself.

“Maybe not this time, I have had a

constructive day at work, you can’t

have everything. There are always more

fish in the sea and all that.”

He left the courtyard into the busy,

loud, frantic noise of the road outside

and put himself onto a bus to get home.
